Do we hire an OC??

Maybe I heard this wrong, but didn't CLK say at his press conference that he would be calling plays and anybody he hired on the offensive side would essentially be CLK's assistant?

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I heard him say this.

Kind of. He said that he'd be calling plays unless he had someone there who he trusted and felt good about when calling plays, then he might be able to let an OC do it. It's probably going to be him though.

Gotcha.

Did he call the plays at Oakland?

yes, i'm pretty sure all teams have an OC and DC

Not true. Just one example: Steve Spurrier doesn't have an offensive coordinator.

That said, it's not Lane's style to go that route. He will hire someone to help him with the offense.

Richt and Spurrier used to call their own plays and they didn't have a true OC. But, Richt turned pc duties over to mike bobo and spurrier to his son---not much improvement. They might go back to the old system.

Although, he may not be listed as Offensive Coordinator, Spurrier's son called plays this year.

No way he hires He has a $3 million budget to pay his coaching staff and assuming Monte and Oregron come that will eat up half that itself. So by not hiring and OC that is more money for him to spend.
