Do we have the best shot

Well with what's happening down in Florida I think so. I mean look who is in our division;

Florida - Will go down hill fast IMO.
Tennessee - We're on the rise.
Georgia - Their going down hill to.
South Carolina - There the same ole Cocks.
Kentucky - Not happening.
Vandy - Not happening.

This has really opened up the East and we are realistically looking at a possible SEC Championship berth in Kiffin's second year.

We are still outclassed by Florida and Georgia in terms of overall talent. South Carolina is disturbingly close to us, and Kentucky might be better next year (they took us to OT this year). Any talk of winning the East with the mess our oline is going to be, and major question marks at QB, and new starters at Dtackle is premature.

FL still has talent out the A** so if they hire a big name coach I dont see them dropping that far unless they change to a pro style then we will challenge them...

SC will be good next year, IMO. FL could beat us. Bama will prob beat us. Thats 3 possible losses next year although I think we do beat SCjr.

Who does Fl lose to in the conference? 3 times

Not to mention LSU could be a loss

hey next year bama and flordia come to knoxville ,i pull for undefeated every year even if there are question marks, very few road games next year and our line will be better than we probally think .if we can land green and another plus two we have 2 starters coming back plus back ups and redshirt freshmen and incoming freshmen,im more worried about the dt position and hopeing whoever the qb is doesnt have an awful year doesnt have to be top 3 or 4 in sec but needs to be better than bottom.

No, we don't. Our schedule is brutal, we'll have a new starting QB, who the hell knows what are offensive line will look like-let alone if it will be even passable, Georgia will be looking to rebound, and Florida is still ahead in talent at this point.

People do realize we play Pac 10 champion Oregon, Florida, and LSU all in the first month of the season right?

LOL... the winner of the East will likely be 4-4 in the SEC...

UF is at least beatable; Oregon will be tough, but they're losing half or so of the D-line.

UT will be underdogs in 6 of their first 8 games next year..

as would any sec team playing an sec schedule and that spent the entire previous season unranked, but I think would most would agree that's going to be misleading going into 2010. Whether or not your assertion is true depends also, I think, on how we perform early. Many prognosticators are already aware, imo, that we could become quickly dangerous from this point.

I just don't see how we can be dangerous. We won't have any more depth next year than we do this year. 2011 will be the break out year.
