I thought that too until I read the new rules today..I got a mental picture of Saban oversigning and running off overrecruited players.... guarantee that is one of the reasons for the limit and the portal

Does anyone have a number on what Georgia is losing from graduation..early NFL and portal? Gotta be close to 30...5 in early draft..2 in portal..gonna be tough to get to 85 for them with the new rules

Actually the rule re 25 max scholarships was instituted largely because of Houston Nutt when he was at Ole Piss. They routinely signed more than 30 players and then come summer they would pare it down (by telling guys they no longer wanted them) to meet the 85 total max.

We've only got two more spots left to bring in anyone on scholarship per the 25 rule, with two guys committed not signed. So it's either them or an upgrade it appears. I could be off, but I think the current count is 87. So to take those 2 more, 2 more gotta go.
