Does anyone know why May's actually transferred. His lawyer said it wasn't about the finger.

Not exactly what I'd expect or want to hear from his camp. Would have been a fine argument to make with the NCAA for immediate eligibility. Of course, you know Kirby won't sign off on his release to an opponent...in the east...coached by someone he reportedly can't stand.

His "lawyer"? I thought college players couldn't have agents. I'm not sure that lawyer isn't just another term for agent.

You can hire a lawyer...as long as he’s not negotiating contracts for you. Same guy Fields used last year.

Can't do anything about release as long as the portal is involved.

I guess this is actually the rule:

NCAA rules forbid student-athletes to agree, orally or in writing, to be represented by an agent or organization in the marketing of his or her athletic ability or reputation until after the completion of the last intercollegiate contest, including postseason games. The NCAA prohibition includes an agreement that is not effective until after the last game.

Seems to me that there is a fine line here but apparently the NCAA does allow it.

As I understand, he was tired of hanging around with a bunch of losers who, despite having one of the best high school systems, haven't won jack squat in 40 years.

I gotta totally agree here.

Both Texas and Georgia have no excuse to not be ncaa champs at least once every ten years.

when his dad's finger came off, he lost a lot of blood. They needed a donor with the same blood type, and when they tested Cade, turns out he bled orange, too. The georgia medical staff informed the coaches it could be contagious, so they are granting the release.

All new incoming scholarship players count for the academic year in which they arrive. Doesn't matter their redshirt status, waiver approval, or where they came from. We signed 21 early, Cade is enrolled, he makes it 22. V Jones will make it 23 when he gets here. Miles Jones does not count as he is a walk-on. If he takes a scholarship next year, then he will count at that time. So, currently we have two spots left.

I thought since V Jones is a grad transfer he doesn't count towards the 25 new player number and only the 85 total player number?

Doesn't matter whether undergraduate or graduate. It only matters about scholarship.

You thought wrong.
I thought that too until I read the new rules today..I got a mental picture of Saban oversigning and running off overrecruited players.... guarantee that is one of the reasons for the limit and the portal
