Do the VOLS have anything similar?

Watching that, it really makes me wonder how a college athlete at a major school can possibly fail? They have EVERYTHING set up for them to succeed in school and life. All they have to do is not screw it up.

that's easier said than done for many people, especially when they are 18-21yo

I am not that far removed from that age group. It isn't that hard. But then, maybe it is easier if you DON'T have it all handed to you on a silver platter?

It's not like it's handed to them...they've earned it.

By being born with great genes? Or by playing an organized sport just like millions of other guys? Or do you mean by making the grades... like everyone else?

You're saying that high school kids don't put in hard work to get a D1 scholarship...especially to school like LSU? It's a different type of "hard work". They've got different goals in comparison to the normal individual pursing a degree to get a job in whatever field in the future. Either way, hard work is required, just in a different way.

As a recruit I would be pretty impressed. I looked over the rest of the site and ran into the whole application thing.

Dang, it must be nice. I have never seen the majority our facility how do we compare?

Our facilites are some of the best in the nation.

Neyland is a much better stadium IMHO. I haven't seen the renovations yet. I have been to Death Valley and it just doesn't compare to Neyland.

There is great atmosphere in Death Valley. I was not blown away.

Great genes help, but these guy have to work their arse off to succeed. I remember 2 a days in high school and they still stick out 15 years later as the most strenuous daily activities I have ever encountered. My best friend during those days was the PVC pipe with holes cut into it and hooked up to a garden hose. And if it was that bad in high school, I couldn't imagine what it is like at a major university like ours.
