This class has 6 LBs, 6 DL, and 5 DBs.

Will take only 1 RB because one of the big guys will jump at UT selling him on being the only guy.

Will take only 1 QB.

Will take 3 WRs

Will take 3 OL

Will take 1 TE

I think we sign over 25 this year, and we see a lot of players being asked to explore their options elsewhere if the numbers become a crunch.

I was thinking the same. About 16 on Defense and 10 on offense.

I find these two hard to believe, especially tight end. With us losing Clear and with Rivera graduating this year I would think 2 minimum is what we would sign for 2013.

Also, how do we only take 3 OL's with us losing so many after next year? I would think we would try and sign about 5 OL's.

Was able to redshirt 3 last year if not mistaken. Next year will be loaded down with OL like this year will be loaded down with defensive players.

Yep. Posey, Kerbyson, and Crowder are all RS Freshmen this year. Helps ease my mind about not taking any OL last year.

Okay. You better hope there are no transfers, injuries, busts, or dismissals. If not, you'll be alright.

4-5 OL at the least.
I mean, seriously, we didn't take one last cycle.
Not one.

Exactly, you can go from blessed to screwed at a position in milliseconds. A couple OL can have some Herman Lathers luck, and UT would be in some trouble.

I will agree with the 4 OL. I think we even have room to sign 4 as we can sign more than 25.

I think we definitely take 12 LBs and DL total with the names we have and are in on.

I would prefer 4 but don't see an issue with 3 - at 3 you would have next year:

3 fresh - Asanders and TBD
3 RSsoph - crowder, posey, kerbyson
2 junior - Tiny and MJackson
4 senior - Bullard, Stone, JJames, Fulton

that would assume jequari cant make it back

I think you might also see MJackson and/or Stone RS this coming year if they can't crack a starter spot which would build even more depth

if you brought in 3 again the next year that would make 2014 look like this:

3 fresh
3 RSfresh
3 RS junior
2 or 1 senior if Tiny goes

again i think Stone might RS to give another senior but you willl have a lot of depth either way

That's assuming no one gets injured/transfers/flunks out/etc. I still say we take more than 3. I predict 5.

Better take 5. No one wants to relive the past two seasons with all the youth and lack of strength up front. In a perfect world, every OL would redshirt their first year on campus, with the exception of a Tiny like talent. I remember when 247 reported that Marcus Jackson stepped on campus as an EE and was the strongest OL on campus at that point. (I am sure that changed when Tiny showed up however)

I will leave managing the numbers to the staff. Now have Freshmen: Kerbyson, Crowder and Posey. Sophs: Pair, Tiny, Marcus Jackson and Carson.

We have only TWO tight ends returning in 2013, plus walk-ons. We not only need a tight end in this class, but one who can contribute immediately. Since TE is one of our hardest positions to learn, it would help if we could get an early enroller. We should be very attractive to the TE's out there, IMO, based on our low numbers at the position and based on the number of times Riviera was thrown to last year.
