DK is the best Tennessee player of the 3 point line era

And I don’t think it’s even close. No disrespect to Houston, Lofton, or G-will. Dalton Knecht is head and shoulders above them.
You’re right it’s not close. Sorry but DK isn’t even close. Only one season does not make you the best player ever at any program. Same reason guys like Tobias, Chandler, Keon, can’t be on the list. One of, if not the best, seasons in school history for sure but not best player in Vols last 40years. Just not enough at bats.

I don’t know if he’s head and shoulders above Houston. Houston played on horrific teams, but he was phenomenal.Inly 1 SEC player has more career points than Houston. That is Pistol Pete. Is the that people feel they have to do stuff like this and make lists . Knecht is great. Saying he’s head and shoulders above Houston is absurd.

I wonder how big of an impact DK will have in the NBA. A career like Tobias or Grant? Or maybe an all-star caliber type of player? Either way, the dude is going to be a lottery pick. Thrilled he is a Vol!

He is the most complete player that we’ve ever had…period. Shoots and scores from outside with ease. He can literally drive to the basket whenever he damn well pleases and cannot be stopped. I wish we had him for more than one season. He’s a generational player

He’s not going to be a lottery pick. He’s going to likely be top 20. Why are we making outrageous statements? Knecht is incredible and we should appreciate it and enjoy it.

He is the best player we have had since Houston imo. That puts him in good company too. Houston had a terrific pro career and won a gold medal as well.

Why is it outrageous? You believe he'll be a top-15 pick. The top 13 picks are lottery picks. Is the difference in 13 and 15 outrageous?

He’s the best since Houston , not “head and shoulders “ above Houston. Lofton and Grant were here 4 years, but as far as a contented player, yes he’s the best since Houston.

I meant top 20, my bad. I think he probably will. I think saying he will definitely be a lottery pick is outrageous. Some mocks have him going as low as 28. I think he could sneak into top 15 but I’d expect 17 or so, which is outstanding. I don’t get why that Kansas dude is projected above Knecht.

Grant was here 3 years
My fault. You’re right. Multiple years was my point. Depends on how people view careers. I think it s safe to say Knecht is better overall player. Lofton and Grant’s eras here were great. Lofton is closest to taking over games like Knecht does but couldn’t do everything Dalton does.

Ok
Best pro prospect to come out of UT since Houston. Never said he was better.

Or Yarbrough or Lofton or Grant
I mean can you imagine Lofton playing with the depth on Vols team they have now?!? Dane played the 4 at times and most of talent around him was young! Plus the way the game is played today Chris would’ve average 25-30 points a game.
I can’t imagine how good Yarbrough would’ve been with a Coach Barnes on the bench instead of J. Green who was notorious for just letting team do what they wanted.

He's the best offensive player for sure since I've been watching. I think good arguments can be made for at least one or two other players being better overall. He's a true 3-level scorer, and that gives him the edge over Lofton imo in the argument of who is the best offensive player.
He's a lot like Allan Houston, to be honest. He's a much more athletic version and is better around the rim...more explosive.

Maybe the most complete offensively gifted but not the most complete. Not close to it…

Yes he is. Best talent we’ve had since King. Best player just has to be the best player. It’s not best career. It’s best player period.

Comparing era’s and players has never felt like exact science (in any sport) and kinda feels like an insult to some of our greatest IMO. I consciously avoid making those comparisons. I do know this…DK is UNQUESTIONABLY one of the best players EVER at Tennessee. Not saying the best because I come from the Ernie and Bernie and Dale and Allan and Chris and Grant tree. And I’m leaving out some great ones. I for one just want to enjoy DK INCREDIBLE game while it last. For the discussion Rick said post game KD was the other player he coached who did what DK did tonight. Literally took over the game!
