So now that A&M is official, what are the opinions of how Slive and company are going to make up the difference in money paid out? SEC Network? Something else? And why does this all seem to be about more than just college football?

More teams means it's time to renegotiate that tv deal.

No renegotiation, ESPN has already announced that they had increased their yearly rights fee by an amount that will keep each school's share the same as it is now.

It works because A&M and Mizzou or VaTech would bring more tv sets than the other 12 SEC schools combined.

For all the link demanders, here's the info on the increased payout:
"The agreement to add another came after ESPN increased its overall SEC television payout to ensure no school will lose money by bringing Texas A&M into the Southeastern Conference, Pastides said. The contract, which varies from year to year but typically is more than $100 million, is currently split between 12 schools. It will now be split between 13."

Texas A&M officially joins Southeastern Conference

TAM brings it's fans. Those new eyeballs sell more ads. The ad money finds its way into everyone's pockets.
