In the 90's, the first team qb started every game each season except 94 when JC tore his knee.

This decade has been the decade of the qb carousel. Only three times has a qb started every game that season (2001, 2003, 2007) and won 11, 10, 10 games respectfully.

Since 1994 when we start multiple qb's in a season we have lost at least 4 games 6 of 7 seasons including this season (i expect at least 1 more loss this season). 2004 we lost 3 games being the exception.

When the qb starts every game the most losses we had were 3 losses which include bowl games.

Stability can not be overstated enough at the qb position.

1990 Kelly lost 2
1991 kelly lost 3
1992 Shuler lost 3
1993 Shuler lost 2
1994 Colquitt, Stewart, Manning Helton lost 4
1995 Manning lost 1
1996 Manning lost 2
1997 Manning lost 2
1998 Martin zero
1999 Martin lost 3

2000 Matthews, Suggs, Clausen: lost 4
2001 Clausen: lost 2
2002 Clausen,Banks: lost 5
2003 Clausen lost 3
2004 Shaeffer, Ainge, Clausen lost 3
2005 Ainge Clausen lost 6
2006 Ainge, Crompton lost 4
2007 Ainge lost 3
2008 Crompton, Stephens lost 3 and counting

Also, that is Crompton (not Stephens) with 3 losses under his belt already this season and he was yanked, you think he would have gone undefeated the rest of the year?

Your missing the point. Anytime more than one qb starts regardless who and when the losses occurs, we lose at least 4 games in 6 of those 7 years. Either injury or Phil not making the best decision has occurred.

I don't get your point either.

Multiple QBs weren't the reason for the issues in those years...injury circumstances and just all-around bad QB and offensive play were the reasons.

Not necessarily. You are completely ignoring the fact that a winning quarterback is less likely to be benched, so winning ten games may be the cause of quarterback stabililty as much as quarterback stability can cause winning.

The quarterback play in the '00s hasn't been as good as it was in the '90s; I don't think that is going to surprise anybody. Crompton was (is?) supposed to be the fellow to return us to the glory days of Heisman runner-ups and Jimmy Sexton clients, but it hasn't happened like that, but that doesn't mean it was a mistake to try and hand the reigns of the offense to the guy with the most upside potential.

I think we need to break this down further. How many of these same QB's had pocket presents?
