They decided to fight fire which barely existed with even more not true fire.
So much for the company that thinks everyone (but whites!) is equal and that hate speech is a war crime.

What does "so much for the company" mean? Disney isn't going anywhere, that article just said a couple right wing influencers tweeted their complaints
Their identity as a producer of “good for the whole family” entertainment is cooked. They are into a lot of other things - general entertainment, sports, etc. - but the Walt Disney label which used to mean good for all ages and consistent with traditional values is long gone. In retrospect, they should perhaps have created a holding company with a different name to do a wide range of things and kept the Walt Disney label for a more narrow product segment.

I have not been on the "Disney is woke" bandwagon very much, but my daughter watched some of the Proud Family episodes last year and there were bits where they were doing spoken word and protests that would make a lot of people uncomfortable. I remember them repeating "slaves built this country" among a few other lines.

It won’t matter. People are Disney or they aren’t. Two of the most right wing Jefferson County Tennessee friends of mine go twice a year to the park and two cruises a year. It’s just something people are not willing to give up. It’s not like having another brand of beer on the shelf.

In 1984, they created a separate film production label called Touchstone Pictures. It went defunct when Universal Pictures replaced Disney as the DreamWorks distributor in 2016.

It will if it keeps making woke slop that seems 1/8 assed
No, they won't. Disney should see some growth in streaming with ESPN acquiring the NFL Network and NFL Red Zone. That has been a trouble area for them. Though, I am surprised they gave the NFL such a large share at 10%. The parks are doing fine.

It's funny that you mention the parks. I have listened for a long time at people bitching at the price of an airline ticket to fly across the country at 8/10 the speed of sound yet they don't bat an eye at the price of admission to DisneyWorld.

You are absolutely right. They will be fine as long as we have children that see Mickey.

When it comes to Disney/ESPN, I think a lot of right-wingers see a depth of despair that just isn't there.

"Disney destroyed the Star Wars franchise." - Jesse Watters of Fox News

"Well .... Let's cool our jets just a bit. Those prequels disappointed a lot of people, so it's not like George Lucas went out on a high note. Also, isn't The Force Awakens still the highest grossing movie ever? I think it made over $900 million in the US alone, Jesse." - Dana Perino of Fox News

Watters had no response.

Also, don't disrespect Watters. For a politician he's really entertaining

Huh? He's not a politician and seems really insecure about how men aren't supposed to use straws or whatever
He's close enough. But my apologies. Please allow me to try again.
For a political analyst who goes on a news show every weekday at 8 PM, he's entertaining.
Also his insecurity about straws was entertaining, no?

I thought it wasn't manly to use straws as a teen and young adult, but I was giving my dad crap about it one day, and he told me to watch how the servers carry drinks to the table and what they touch in between. Now, Straws are great !!!
