Here's a list, inspired by the original lists hatvol started doing years ago.

1. I'm more disappointed in the fans' reactions to the loss than the actual loss. I'm thinking some posts were deleted on VN, because the other boards are full of trash. People wanting to run Coach out of town, hating on players, etc. Man up and realize that Lawgator was right when he told us in 2007 that it takes many heartbreaks in the tournament before the big payoff.

2. Every weakness this team had was exposed last night. I lied to myself and said we fixed the issues, but the reality is that we hadn't played a team/coach that could exploit us. This will happen EVERY year in the tournament if we have a glaring weakness. Luckily, with how Coach is recruiting, we'll be fine.

3. Scotty Hopson should look at what we're losing, and realize he'll start from game 1.

4. I didn't have audio at the bar, so maybe someone can give me insight: why did Steven Pearl get any minutes?

5. I thought the officiating in this game was wretched, but didn't lose us the game. It certainly didn't help.

6. The most painful thing about this loss is that I didn't think Louisville looked all that good. Seriously, I thought they looked bad (which is a testament to how bad we were). If we play 80% of our best game, we win last night.

7. Ramar Smith showed why he can be very good, but he needs to do the following: either A) finish the drives with a bucket or B) make the free throws at a higher clip, or C) both. He is better than ANYBODY in the SEC at getting to the hoop, but he just hasn't found a way to get the buckets to fall. When that's not happening, you need to dedicate yourself to becoming a top notch FT shooter. He'll get there.

8. I've said on numerous boards, and it was echoed by hat, that Jurick might not be great, but after tonight, we'll really be happy with what he bring defensively. If he can average 10 ppg sometime in his career, and play the defense I expect, he'll be a good piece.

9. Daniel West can't get here fast enough. Ramar/West at PG, and put Prince back at the 3 as a slasher. Good Lord, I've never seen a player leave his feet without knowing where he's going with the ball more often that JP.

10. See you in August, I'm heartbroken.

Steven Pearl played because of the same reason Childress did.

Bruce Pearl was scared to death of the prospect of either Wayne or Tyler or Both fouling out mid way through the second half.

I wondered the same thing. And Howell, being a senior, didn't get to play!

Pearl plays forward and had fouls to give.

Jordan plays point guard. Unless you wanted Jordan in there playing defense on their big men quit whining.

8. having watched Jurick play more than a few times......he will need a lot of development to reach that level...but hey what do I know!

Look...its not that I am really whining, I just don't get it. And I know that Jordan plays PG.

A bright spot for you, IMO, is that Chism looks to me like he could develop into a true big man next year. With the 3 point line going back a foot, inside play will be that much more significant again and I do believe that he can fit that underneath role if he has good forward play around him to help out.

I think you are right on topic. The Pearl era really begins now. He took what he was left with and did a wonderful job. Now we are into his recruits.

We really had a disconnect last night and could never take control of the game. Louisville adjusted much better to the rythmn and tempo changes than we did. That is what usually results in a win or a lost.

I hope Hopson? Decides to come to UT. Is there any reason that he maybe leaning our way after looking at Miss St.

I am disappointed alson in some fans. We should really look back at this team and see what they would not have accomplished without Pearl. He seems to get Full potential out of his athletes 99 percent of the time.

I agree that many Tennessee fans have been laughably idiotic in their reactions to this loss. It is one thing to complain out loud about dumb things. It is another to actually type and post them. I know all fans of all kinds do it, but damn.

Geez, I must have watched a different game last night. I saw a very very good Louisville team, who has been getting better over the last month, walk on the Court, well prepared, expecting to win, and handle anything the VOLS threw at them, and they did.

Talk to anyone who has been in big time NCAA tourney ball, experience is huge, both as a coach and player. Lville impressed me as being "more experienced."

Tennessee and the fans should be extremely proud of this club. I am not a CBP fanatic, but he can coach, and given time will get a championship (the people in Indiana are hoping it is at IU...huge topic on radio/tv up here today). Personally I think he stays in Ktown until one of the east or west coast teams come calling. I am also hoping Sean Miller arrives in Bloomington, then I can again cheer for IU basketball but not at UTs expense.

I felt the officials had very little to do with outcome of the game last night. L'ville was better this time out, and seemed almost to know what the VOLS were going to do before they did it. When L'ville got caught or fooled Pitino called time out and adjustments were made, I did not see L'ville keep repeating errors.

Again just my take, I can be wrong, just ask my wife!

No, unfortunately I am pretty sure you and I watched the same game... Good post.

Louisville was the better team, but make no mistake, they didn't "play well". they were as sloppy with the ball as we were.

in actuality the game was playing in to our hands early on.......what killed us was simply didn't make shots when we got turnovers, or we turned it right back over.

the other difference......off. rebounding and they were the ones that decided to play defense.

so, i have no misconception, they were definitely better than us, but if they play the exact same way Saturday, they'll lose by 10 or more to Carolina.

I agree with much of what you say, but I think the early foul trouble did influence the way we played throughout the remainder -- and I thought there were some really bad calls that got us in that foul trouble.

With that said, we totally deserved to lose. Louisville was the better team last night. Had we played smarter and shot better, we could have won that game - even with the crappy officiating.

I'm proud of the team, though. It's a great accomplishment to even get to this level for a team that nobody expected to do anything when the seniors first came to Knoxville.

See us in August? You taking time off from here?

I think so. I'll try at least, but it always sucks me back in. Last year, I really got invested in our football team and the practice reports and all that, only to be again disappointed.

Then, I was invested in this basketball team more than a UT sports team since 1998, and it again leaves me very disappointed. I think maybe a few months off from the obsessions might keep me sane.

I doubt it. I bet I'll be posting regularly on the main board in a month or a week or a day. I like Volnation very much.
