How is it a lie its been stated many times.... in text and video...on many talk shows by the leadership of their players union. Maybe you're new but this has all been going on since pre-covid when they attached themselves co-signing to the USA womens soccer team. I've been following it since way back then. yes at one point Kelsey Plum did try walking it back in an interview after the women soccer team 'won' their case. There is context you'd miss if you weren't following the whole saga. Then it was pointed out to them if they shared revenue they would get paid less (actually they'd have to pay to play.).. because half of negative is negative. This is a straight up lie. If you’re going to post a bunch of Clay Travis anti-WNBA garbage at least get it right and try not to spread it over 7 paragraphs

2024 is likely to be the first time in the history of the WNBA that they have turned a profit as a league.
Again if you try to argue they were asking for equal revenue the only leg you'll have stand on is the Kelsey Plum interview.. that stance was walked back and even in that interview it was clear what she was really saying. Trust me you wont find any other receipts to support that stance. Lets say you are correct.. I'm wrong and they want the same revenue sharing as the men... that would make them (the players union) even more deluded. Basic Math shows that makes no sense. If they wanted profit they would have sent CC to the Olympics. They would have told players around the league to STFU and stop going after her. They would have said leave the golden goose alone. Instead, they double down on ridiculousness. Say people making fun of players wearing insane fake lashes and weaves/extensions and press-on nails in a game are racist? none of those things are race-locked. Ratechet Women, and men, of all races and sexual orientations love extensions, fake lashes and fake nails. Just not on the court where they are safety hazards and the opposite of performance enhancers.
“I don’t think I should get paid the same as LeBron,” Plum said. “But the percentage of revenue — like for example: they sell my jersey in Mandalay Bay, I don’t get a dime. So that’s the stuff we’re talking about.”
Already adressed that if you had read... that was her backpedlaing and it was before the verdict came in for the womens soccer team... they went real quiet after that. Timestamps are your friend sir. This whole thing has been ongoing for over 6 years. I have followed it very closely as I have a realtive who is a former WNBA player and have had some conversations about it over the years.See? You don't say. Google/YouTube are manipulating content? Who woulda thunk that?I'm noticing that youtube feeds me what to watch rather than me searching on it, and the thumbnails have sensational titles, like, BREAKING NEWS, IRENE RYAN'S FAMILY NOW CONFIRM WHAT WE THOUGHT, Stuff like the screenshot below. So MUCH clickbait - and the stories much of the time don't even match the headlines. Much is Caitlin Clark just to stoke things up. I'm sort of sick of it

This is the longest clip of Mabeey and Carrington game 1 eye poking reenactment.
Just found today.
Strongest word eye poking in title.
Last one on showing possible taunting of Caitlin Clark over her eye getting hit.
Her and mabery reenactment of the eye Polk and laughing about.Well, an assault with potential to cause blindness in one eye in a professional athlete does seem to elevate it beyond a basic cat-fight.
Have watch some women's soccer in past World Cup and Olympic Games.Just to keep it super concise and clear to you.
Around 2018 as the Me Too movement was in full swing. The WNBA and USA womens soccer teams decided to capitalize and wade in. A lot of wild stuff was said by a lot of major players. note the WNBAPA was not as organized as it is now.. if you want to call that organization. Up until this all went down the only thing of note that had been accomplished was getting rosters moved from 11 to 12 in 2014....
In 2019 USA womens soccer filed a lawsuit for equal pay (they'd been complaining about it since 2016 but metoo was just perfect timing). It was around this time all the real crazy claims were made and it was getting testy (mostly WNBA players going after NBA players) Brittney Griner was the postergal for this. This went on for a while.
In 2022 USA womens soccer 'won' and immediately regretted it. See they had already been offered the same revenue sharing as the men before and turned it down. the found out that on that same revenue sharing they'd get paid way less and lose their benefits. Womens soccer players got paid and had coverage during covid.. men did not. Because the womens agreement covered them if they played or not had a bunch of health benefits etc. This was all late 2022.
This all leads up to Kelsey Plums backpedal in 2023. Looks like the WNBAPA (she is VP) finally took out their calculators. I am not gonna do all the research for you but since you like googling please do so. And follow it all from start to finish. Many members of the WNBAPA were making reckless statements over the years and the real agenda was put out there. You will also note you won't find many others making similar statements to hers. She is actually one of the sane ones. But the WNBAPA is a union and it goes on the whims of the members. look at the deluded stuff their members have been saying in public and on social media for years. Comparing your check to Lebron James is not saying you want revenue sharing.. The NBA's revenue is not in the same zip code as the WNBA's its simple math. There is no way the WNBA can afford to pay players millions.. period. Even with the record attendance and engagement this year they will likely barely turn a profit. Half of nothing is nothing.
So either Kelsey Plum is an idiot (which she is not) or her statement was made assuming the people listening were. To split revenue you have to have it... does that sink in? The WNBA brought in 200 mil last year...that's before anyone gets paid anything. Thats including the 10 mil a year they are subsidised by the NBA players.. not the NBA the NBA players gives them 10 mil every year to help keep the lights on. They were still in the red as a league. The NBA brought in 10.6 Billion in 2023. This year with all the hype from CC they are still expected to lose 50mil. How are you giving players a raise if you're losing money? If they split the revenue before paying bills the league goes bankrupt. So again either Kelsey Plum is an idiot (which she is not) or her statement was made assuming the people listening are. This is not even deep economics its basic math. another hint Plum studied communication in college.. she knows how to spin things well its why she is on the WNBAPA..
Another funny note... looking at the WNBAPA's leadership list is hilarious they have 4 VP's .. and 24 player reps. the league has 144 players. Maybe their problem is they are overrepresented? They give out participation Vice presidencies.
