They just cannot execute basic blocking techniques. They are slow, lazy, soft, small and weak.

Neither of our previous HCs since Fulmer really knew how to recruit and develop OL. Kiffin was decent and he gifted Dooley some good guys. But Dooley cared more about his orange dog than worrying about the OL. Then in 2012, he fails to recruit a single OL. That put Botch in a huge hole. Then of course we have Botch who recruited smaller sized guys tailored more for the spread scheme. Now Pruitt is stuck with a roster full of guys that are not fit to run a more power style offense.

Also, factor in we didnt have a S&C coach in 2016 and this OL is on their 2nd or 3rd OL coach since coming to TN.

This is actually their first OL coach. Mahoney might have been lots of things, but “coach” wasn’t one of them
