1. Offensive line are all Dooley recruits and may be the best in the country

James - Kiffin
Thomas - Fulmer
Fulton - Kiffin
Richardson - Dooley
Stone - Kiffin/Dooley

There was one year after Dooley got here that we only signed ONE offensive lineman and we have a huge rebuilding job to do there once these juniors graduate because there is nothing in the pipeline. Both numbers and talent are thin with our underclassmen.

you aren't right. The commentary about the overwhelming strength of our schedule is ridiculous. UF is massively flawed, UGA can't play any defense and Murray is deer in the headlights and USC was hurt and had an iffy QB. MSU is just flat mediocre. We had enough talent to be in all those games and to stumble ass backward into winning at least one. We pissed away every single one of them. Shockingly enough, that has been the trend for the entirety, freaking entirety, of Dooley's HC career.

But wait, wins and losses are all that matter right?

UF might be massively flawed but going in to week ten they have 1 loss.

UGA can't play any defense, but going in to week ten they have 1 loss and are almost a lock to win the east.

MSU is flat mediocre but going into week ten, they have one loss to BAMA.

I just don't buy this argument that teams who are bad win more games because of luck. They win games because they aren't as bad as you want to believe. Flaws show up in the win/loss record when you play in the toughest conference in the land, or they are just perceived flaws.

Yes. Nobody like Sunseri. I put it on the DB coaches. How the hell did they get jobs coaching UT's secondary? Either one? The players are ok on the back end. the coaching is not

Players on the backend couldn't start for any other SEC team.....we need more talented DB's

2012 was never relevant to begin with, anyone who thought otherwise while predicting 8-4 pre-season isn't living in reality. Most of us saw this season for what it was. Put a system in place, put some points up on offense and keep our major SEC games a 60 min. fight, and get recruits. Anyone who thinks that just because there is a power T on the side of those helmets means they're entitled to a National Championship every year is deluded about where we were in 2010 and where we are now. People hated Dooley from the start because he wasn't Jon Gruden, but that's their problem. Some of us are realistic and can see the foundation being put in place. 2013 we can and should go 9-3, how is that overlooking?

Many Vol fans need to get over themselves with calling Dooley supporters out for accepting mediocrity or being complacent. Those same fans dislike Dooley because they confuse being a realist for making excuses and they confuse people recognizing the reality of our situation as complacent. I'm willing to spend 3-5 years digging ourselves out of a mess that took 10+ years to get into, if we do we'll be much better for it as a program and as a fanbase.

Optimistic are you not? 9-3 in 2013 who are you kidding...look at the schedule

The facts below happened after having a "DC" given to Dooley by Hart.

This DC has put the worst defense EVER to wear the orange on the field week after week.

Consider above and below and you tell me who needs to be fired.

we lost to a #2 at home (muschump was desperate enough to fake punt, then....)

we lost to a #5 on the road by 7 (did we have 1 stop on D in the first half?)

we lost to a # 11 on the road (did we have one stop on D in the first half?)

we lost to a #1 (2012 MNCs)

and we lost to a # 3 on the road by 3

Oregon at Neyland

Tennessee up 13-3

Tied 13-13 at the half

Final score: 48-13 Oregon

Later in the year, we'd need OT to beat UAB.

I know who needs to be fired.

Yes there is trouble brewing on the OL again but it's not dire. We do still have Crowder(fresh) Kerbyson(fresh), Marcus Jackson(soph), Allan Posey(freshman) and Tiny is just a (soph). In 2011 we signed 5 OL but this past class (2012) we didn't sign a single linemen. I think not signing anyone in 2012 was a mistake. You should take 2-3 OL in every class regardless. Overall Dooley's recruiting is weak at best and getting weaker. His 2010 class was by far his best class and it was Kiffins staff that did most of the work.

Volnation solution to every problem=fire everyone. Wonder if the basketvols lose a couple games how long it will be before cuonzos head is called for? Who will do the firing since hart and cheek will be fired?

I can't see why Kurt is still starting - he had 1 tackle against SC. For a line backer that is just abismal. Turf toe = should be sitting imo.

I know it's picky but it drives me insane. It's Curt not Kurt and for others it's Zach not Zack or Zac, Mychal Rivera not Michael Riveria, Marlin Lane not Marlon, Queshaun not Queshawn, Rajion not Rajon, Prentiss not Prentice, Deion Bonner not Deon, LaDarrell not Darrell, Blanc not Blank, Jacques not Jacquez, Ja'Wuan not Jajuan. Hope I didn't leave any out. I feel better now.

I would like to know by what criteria you are asserting that we are getting better. The only one that counts is W. L. I haven't seen an improvement yet

If you want to simplify things and look at it like that we will never get out of this mess no matter who the coach is. Nobody can guaranteed to start rebuilding and turn this around in 2-3 years which is what you are demanding. I think we will soon see Hart again talk about importance of progress. Sorry that you only like black or white but real life is often about shades of gray. Of course if we lose any of the remaining games (including the bowl game) than I think Dooley will be out. But if we win out there will be enough positive momentum for Hart to give him another year.

[Stone was not going to UT with Kiffin as the Head Coach -- when Kiffin left, James Robert changed his mind.

+1...

I've said it before and I'll say it again: we don't need 2 DB coaches!! Guys, seriously put your computer and/or smartphone down and name me one team that's getting it done (i.e., winning) with 2. I can't think of one... And almost every team in the country only has 1. Personally, I'd keep Conklin. The guy has DC experience and I would probably let him call the plays until the end of the season because Coach Buddy aint't hackin' it in the playcalling dept. then reevaluate at the end of the year...

Read between the lines..
uhhh..yeah..our defense is awful. no doubt the worse ever..
we have 2 coaches in the secondary and neither one of them can teach a db to cover correctly..
Dline has improved..some anyways..
So hart gave Dooley Sal?
Does he get a refund or return policy?

You need to change your fav. team under your avi. to Denver......You still have it as Colts

I've been a long time lurker and never intended to make any posts but some of the threads on Volnation have become laughable. I agree with your statement that Volnation's solution to problems = fire everyone.

If Dooley is fired at the end of the season and the new mystery coach has a mediocre season next year, will the Dooley haters want to fire the new mystery coach too, considering the fact the new mystery coach inherited a far better team from Dooley than Dooley inherited from Kiffin? Or will the Dooley haters want to give the new mystery coach more time to build the team, time they will not afford Dooley? The Dooley haters will have egg on their face if the new mystery coach has only a mediocre season next year.

Even if the new mystery coach has an exceptional season next year year, will the Dooley haters be humble enough to admit that it will be Dooley's team and foundation that Dooley built that won all those games? Will the Dooley haters remember that Dooley was the one who inherited a horrible situation, had to do all the dirty work of dealing with many coaching changes and trying to win with a bunch of freshmen and sophmores his first two seasons and had to take all the heat? Will they thank Dooley for that?

Outta here :salute:
