Did yall really expect a win? The number nine team in the nation against an unranked Tennessee? Why do yall expect so much only to be crushed week by week? Seriously it is not the end of the world. There is NOTHING this staff could have done. Our offense showed promise and a future and improved dramatically from last week. Our defense is atrocious, but with recruiting will get better. Please stop complaining so much it is just painful. Have a sense of reality. However, if we lose to vanderbilt who has arguably the same or a little talent than we do, then you can be angry. Auburn simply has more talent than we do. Face the facts.

Nope, I posted earlier this week that I thought we'd lose by 3 tds. However, I didn't expect to give up the second most rushing yards allowed by a UT defense in school history. I didn't expect to see what looked like a Dooley/Sunseri coached defense...but I did.

Are we to expect a defense that can't stop the run or pass and special teams that give up KO and punt returns for TD's and over 50 pts? Is that to be expected?

I expected a win because this team always manages to get my hopes up and then turn around and blow them to pieces.

i expected a win, if we couldn't do that i wanted to keep it within 14 points. the fact that we only scored 3 points in the second half is inexcusable. period.

I expected to get our ars whooped just like we have been. I'll expect to get our ars whooped every week until I see something different. See, I've become to accept that TN won't be competitive. For a long long time.

Looking at the schedule in August, I thought Missouri & Auburn were winnable games. Then as the season progressed and Missouri & Auburn were in the top #10, I started to feel diffferently.

NO, I was afraid it would get ugly because of the way Malzahn schooled us in Neyland back in '09 with Caleb and that bunch. We couldn't get them off the field. This year the matchup was even worse, because we are a step slower on D than in '09, and Allbarn is a step faster on O with that QB.:banghead2:

Much like last week, there was a whole lot of people here saying we win. The reasons ranged from "We're way better at home" to "Auburn is overrated and has played a joke schedule".

So yeah, like last week, a lot of people are going to say now they didn't expect a win, but earlier this week a good many apparently were.

People You cannot coach speed! If our guys do not stop at the line of scrimmage our boys are to slow. Sapp will never cover a receiver on a wheel rout. Our DBs will not close the angles. Butch has to recruit speed. Every person living in reality knew that Auburn would gash our D with its speed.

Guess we should just compare 40 times instead of playing football.

I've heard the speed excuses on here for a while. If you're going to use lack of speed as justification for the poor perfermance of the D, can you really put all the blame on Sunseri for last year? He didn't recruit the guys he was coaching.

My point is Sunseri, to many, will go down as the worst DC in the history of football. But Jones and staff get a pass because of lack of speed?

I'm not saying UT should have kept Dooley or Sunseri, but it's a bit hypocritical to blast Sunseri but give Jones a pass when the D is performing at a similar level.

Good points.

I don't think it is too much to ask the best staff in America to figure out a way to stop at least 1 of the 3 plays that Auburn ran yesterday.

They ran three of the simplest plays in the book over and over and over and the Vols did nothing to adjust.

Three weeks in a row this team hasn't shown a pulse on defense and looked ordinary at best on offense.

If yesterday was Jones' challenging his team to find their toughness, then he failed miserably.

Excuses are like buyouts, every UT coach has one.
