It was different in one aspect from the other 3 years under Butch and I just realized it the other day

The 3 previous seasons, after every loss, it seemed like there was a big commit announcement shortly afterwards. It seemed to take everyones mind off the present and onto the future

I wonder why Butch got away from doing that this year?

It seemed like a good tactic to take the focus off the bad and onto the good

You know what's coming.....

"Because he doesn't have any big commits."

And, they could be right. I don't know.

There aren't any spots available so announcing new commitments would be kind of squirrelly. Don't need to draw extra bad publicity for blatently withdrawing offers.

He expected to win as much as we did. But there has been no buzz about this class. Probably less than less season, which also underwhelmed.

He's just underwhelming by his very nature. As such the team is the same way.

Conspiracy, or just nothing big to announce, after all he's already let the champion for life thing out of the bag, or perhaps he's pouting?:ermm:

We can't sell the future like we have in past and that's why we are struggling in recruiting we are no longer in a rebuild mode it's more of a reload. Our on field performance will make it very hard to Crack top 10

In previous years it was easier to sell the building process to recruits. He could point to narrow losses or upset wins and sell them on the program being close to being with the elite. When you have pretty much the same caliber season when your first class are seniors, recruits just aren't buying it anymore.

UT needs more players that can't make out a coherent sentence like Reuben foster.. I'm convinced that's why Alabama is so good. Our players are too dang smart.. Can't win anything like that.

There is the whole, most injury riddled season ever thing... That had to have hurt.

There are spots....only 23 commits right now. And there will be other decommits. If Butch wanted to/had commits to announce, he could/would.

Shouldn't have needed any of those players to have beaten either SCar or Vandy, which would've put us at 10-2 and SECe champs.....which would've been easy to sell as improvement from the last 3 years. But you surely know this already.

We have a few decent commits. But the class ranking has fell pretty good (at least on ESPN).

.....don't think he has any big commits.

I mean the class is basically full at this point unless more four stars decommit.

I don't think ppl realize how talentless those two teams are. We should've been able to beat them with our 3rd stringers. Simply got out-coached and out-executed

Nothing left to sell. He's reputation has taken a hit this year. I suspect we'll be lucky to sign a top 25 class this year. Looks to be loaded with projects and guys we'd need to shirt to maybe play SEC ball or not.

That is bad for a staff that has a reputation for not developing talent.
