I was taught that from Dixie Youth all the way through High School ball. The plus for me was that, as a catcher, I got to chat with the umps and work the zone easier than most guys.
those gamecast setups are highly unreliable, but it's worth noting that in every baseball game I've ever watched some strikes were called balls and some balls were called strikes. I just take it as it is.
