Did Tennessee players throw the OSU game?

We got outplayed but there is no doubt it didn’t help.

The leaks will keep coming about how much of a problem he and/or his “crew” were.

That Ohio State game was the only.game last season our guys came out and got punched square in the mouth, tried to swing back, and realized they were in real trouble.

After that it was downhill and hard to keep any sort of battle plan together and the team cohesive.

Josh Pate reporting Nico and other players tried demanding more money right before the OSU game. Instead of sitting out they played which leads me to wonder did they throw the OSU game on purpose because they didn't get what they wanted?

Nico still played after he got his helmet cracked.

He played as hard as he could. Ohio State just hit another gear that we or NOBODY else could match.

Our offensive coordinator has no imagination, and Nico’s legs kept us in the game for 1 half

We got our asses whooped by a bunch of damn nerds.

Plain and simple
Ohio State had a freshman WR that is 6’3” 213 and runs 4.3.

Nobody stopped him all year.

If he’s a “nerd “ than damn!

I think the whole “They made adjustments and we didn’t” thing also had a lot to do with it. Heupel pretty much told the world that we weren’t going to change a thing that we were doing. They adjusted from their loss to Michigan, and got the ball in their best players hands. They did everything right, we did everything wrong.

He broke 2 helmets…..still played. The cold definitely had something to do with it, but still playing after 2 helmets….he didn’t quit, just got beat.

No, we got beat by a better team. Maybe if we had dressed up in maize and blue, it would have been different, but against anyone but that team, Ohio State was the best team in the country, and it was at home.

Nico didn't play like a kid that tried to throw the game. Wrs couldn't get open and he put his body on the line to try and make things happen with his legs.
The question is did Nico poison the locker room before the game, much like the NIL drama poisoned the locker room before the South Carolina game in ‘22?

Very well could be true. That's been my fear with NIL. Certain positions getting paid much more than others, and causing resentment.

They didn't throw anything which was the problem😂🤣😂🤣. But seriously OSU kicked our ass. It's that simple

I don’t believe Nico tried to throw the game at all. What I do know is if a member of my team at work, who is just as important to the team as I am, is busy negotiating a higher salary when they are already 25% ahead of my salary instead of focusing at the project at hand…..I’m gonna be pissed and I may be a little sassy pants about it and not give my all like I normally would.

I believe there’s more to this than people realize. Heupel talked about players not wanting to be here during a press conference before the OSU game. We’re now getting our answers.

I remember nearly half the talent on offense was ready to hit the portal when they thought he was transferring to Miami. This happened just right after the playoff embarrassment. Do most of you really believe he wasnt talking to his teammates about leaving TN leading up to the Ohio State game?

The total lack of team effort made me think there might have been some lockeroom sabotage going on behind the scenes. I also don't consider him running for his life like a stooge during that game the same as giving his all for TN.

He had one foot out the door from day one. I remember the Basilio rumor about Bama trying to get Nico to transfer during Miltons last season. Bet his daddy was shopping him around from the start.

I actually thought Nico played very hard.

We got smoked by the most talented team in the country who was coming off of an embarrassing loss to their most hated rival. Sometimes you’re the windshield and sometimes you’re the bug. We all know what we were that night.

I remember him playing like someone who didn't have a clue on what he was doing. Don't you kind of find it funny that Ohio State wasn't smoking anyone else in the regular season before that game?

Some of you must be his entourage on here defending him.

No. Vols just got outplayed by a better team at their home stadium.
Agreed. Not buying into a throwing a game theory. That said, UT looked like a team that wanted the season to be over against OSU. For whatever reason their hearts weren't in it.

lol he wasn’t saying he “Nico and other UT players” tried to sit out of the game. He was saying “Nico and other players around the country” did this

I think he was lost, but I thought the entire team was shook the first 10 minutes of that game.

I’m not sure how it was funny that they weren’t smoking anyone else before that game. They had a horrible, horrible game plan vs Michigan and then they decided to open it vs us. And I actually think they put it on Oregon worse than they put it on us . I have no idea where you come up with this idea of “some of you must be his entourage” garbage . I commented that he played hard, not particularly well.

Can’t imagine coaching in this circus. If I’m Huepel, I’m leaving for the pros first chance I get if the team has good owners.

I don't know what you remember, but it certainly wasn't the Ohio State vs Tennessee game. Nico played very tough during that game, Ohio State was just better. Our offensive coordinator ran the same 5 plays all night and they knew what was coming. Not enough creativity or talent on our side of the field to beat the freaking national champions.
