Did Selby cost us another recruit?

Did waiting on Selby to play the recruiting game cost us another recruit--possibly a post player? Rumor is that we backed off Abraham because we wanted to save the scholarship for Selby. We were also rumored to be in on at least one other post player. Should we have gone ahead with recruitment of others or is Selby worth losing other recruits with a chance to get him?

One of the rumors was that the scholarship was for Selby and if he didn't commit it would be saved for 2011. Others in the 2010 class were no longer in play.

It would seem that he kind of did.....but that just means we can add to our already good 2011 class

I think it is never a bad thing when you are being concidered by one of the top recruits in the nation. i think having us in the lead only to to likes of kansas signals to recruits that tennessee is now a power in college basketball...

It is interesting that Cothron has not yet signed with anyone. I don't find anything that says we are still in the mix for him. I think it is a mistake not to sign a quality post this year.

We're not even on Cothron's list, he's down to Alabama, Auburn, and Marquette. Regardless, from what's been said here his tape looks pretty bad and he's quite raw. Sounds like that would another case of settling if we pursued him.

I honestly think we're done with this class.

What the hell do I do now? Work when I'm at work?

I think backing off of Abraham was a good idea in the end. We left ourselves with a good chance at Selby, and now we can save it for someone better in '11. The idea that we are now out of Cothron's league is awesome to me. A four star who would probably come here if we pressed and we're not interested. We have arrived.

Perhaps, but I'm not sure it's a good decision with our current roster of post players.

Abraham is a good prospect but he's a little raw to contribute much next year anyway and it's questionable if he ever would. Better to save it for somebody better next year. Best of luck to Abraham though.

I think we are fine at the post. Goins, Hopson, Tatum, Harris, and Williams starting. Maymon, Hall, Swiper providing depth at the post. Golden is going to be the surprise this year. Look for UT to fill it up from the outside more this year.

Has anyone heard of Harris' injury?
Will it affect this year?
