Fumble recovery and his offense on the 4 yard line 90 seconds left up by 5 and he doesnt try to use Henry to jam one in?

Was it a respect thing?

Or was it a protect the football thing?

watching Georgia on film take a fumble recovery 96 yards has something to do with it. If it is at all possible to take a knee and the win, you do it. Don't risk anything.

You take a knee to end a game every chance you get. Had nothing to do with respect or class

Agreed. No reason to expose the football.

After we used our final timeout following their first kneel down I kind of expected them to run a play there.

When you have an opportunity to run the safest play in football and win the game, why would you do anything else? This isn't Madden

If we had three timeouts they would've punched it in. Since we only had one, they took a knee rather than risk a fumble recovery for TD.

Its called being smaetm you score there and technically we have a chance no matter how small it is.

Protecting the football. It would have been asinine to risk a turnover.
He showed his class when Jones tried to give a real congratulations and he muttered something 2 words or less, while walking away.
He's not famous for his positive temperament but he wins so.....

Hugh Freeze didnt take a knee last year so I was really expecting Saban to try and run a play there. This has nothing to do with Madden or anything like it, just seemed out of character for Nick Saban/Lane Kiffen.

so Nick Saban is better at making decisions than Hugh Freeze

Wish he had tried to run it in. Would have given us a better chance to get it back and win it.

In his after game interview he never even mentioned UT on great game nothing just that they were tired and did not play well at all and were looking forward to an off week.
He is an A**

Which is why he didn't. All can offer up the Saban love if they want, but he just played the best percentages for the win. Yes we hate him, but he's a pretty damn good football coach.

I think it showed respect and class. Kudos to Saban.

Amen. On the one hand, if he had jammed another TD in, about 100 other NCAA coaches in this country would have said privately that he is the biggest jerk ever. But on the other hand, he could have jammed it in....give him some credit for a little class, right? It's not like they were 12 points better than us.

You don't run plays when you don't need to. Bad things happen (turnovers , injuries etc). Had nothing to do with respect . I'm sure he and his little minion considered punching another one in and going for two just for the hell of it.

It has everything to do with math.

Even running the ball you have a much bigger risk of a turnover returned for a TD and a loss then you do simply taking a knee. No respect or class comes into decision.
