We all know the gamew as over at 42-20. But instead of laying off, Meyer did his best Spurrier impression, throwing that deep bomb late and running with Tebow. Was he running up the score or "you just never know when the game's over"?

Me? I think he ran up the score to make a statement to the nation that he has enough talent for another run this year.

Did he, maybe. But does it really matter. Our d quit, they deserved it. We're the university of Tennessee it's not like we're a cupcake. We started feeling sorry for ourselves and Meyer took the oppurtunity to rub it in a bit. If UT can't stop them, then Florida deserved to score

Who cares if he did? If we were in the position to do that to Florida, I'd say step on their necks. We deserved the thrashing we got.

I'm all in favor of running up the score. I think the gentleman rule of not running it up is a crock of poop. I want people to fear my team, not respect them.

"Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 60 minutes."

If it was still time on the clock, it's there job to run plays and our job to stop them...

well... look at it this way... florida jumped oklahoma in at least one poll...

running up the score or not, i'd say the final score unquestionably was a factor in that. just my opinion, of course.

i'm glad he ran up the score...maybe that will teach our defense not to quit with 15 min left in the game.

Sorry guys, I have to disagree. This is a sport, not a battle. Besides, what's the difference between running up the score and scheduling a cupcake?

Additionally, it's just bad coaching in the case of this past weekend. There's too great a risk of getting your star player hurt. UM is an *sshole and an idiot no matter how many games he wins.

Florida can't help that Tennessee is a conference cupcake every year.

Tebow is a first year starter. Meyer kept him in to get a bit more experience. We did lose 8 1/2 minutes from the first game. If y'all scored 59 points against us, you'd be thrilled.

Meyer is not interested in resting now that he's won a national championship. He wants to win another one. He sent a message to the pollsters with the 40 point beatdown. He wants to finish the year ranked #2 so he'll get his shot at USC or Oklahoma in the BCS Championship game.

We deserved the thrashing? Maybe I misunderstand. Did we deserve the thrashing before the game started or just after kickoff or after the 1st, 2nd or 3rd qtr? At what point do you deserve to get out played?

Really, though. If he did run up the score with that scenario, would you blame him? ALL the talking heads were saying UF had no reason being in the Natty Title game, that we couldnt beat teams because we had no style points, we'd get slaughtered by OSU, etc etc. Would you blame him for wanting those style points now?

I admire it. He's fighting to win big. If USC, Florida, and Oklahoma are all undefeated at the end of the season, people are going to look back at how Florida manhandled teams.

QFT

I find it so sad that we are whining about a team running up the score on us. Sad!

We were outschemed and outmanned from the start, and in the 3rd qtr, you could see our players rolled over and quit. It doesn't matter "when" the coaches/team earned it, just that they couldn't stop it.
When Myer left Tebow in to rub our faces in it, someone should have went headhunting and sent a message.

So become classless when someone is violating what rule again?? Running up the score isn't the problem, losing by 39 points is the problem. Meyer's offense is simple and utilizes athleticism. Ours is based on scheme and routes and a bunch of other rubbish that makes the fastest most talented played sit on the sidelines until they "get it".

It's not classless to lay some hits on a guy or in the pile to basically say that "you beat us, but we're not just gonna take it."

So, had we done that to Ainge... Taken some cheap hits on him in the pile, it would be perfectly ok? Umm, no.
