One hilarious bitter fool on here who bashes our basketball coach despite his excellence is on record that Hamilton should be fired and that Dooley will fail.

Lets get some more people on record now.

1. Do you want Fulmer as AD? My answer is no.
2. Do you want to keep Hamilton as AD? Yes
3. Did Hamilton make a good hire? Yes

Dooley is not a good hire and Hamilton had a panic attack.

I don't want Fulmer as AD, ever. Having said that, MH better hope this hire works out.

1. No....Not ever
2. For the time being
3. Only time will tell. I think MH made the best hire with what was left. I've said it before that there wasn't much chance that we were going to get a big name or hot up and coming coach in the time frame we had to work with.

I will support Dooley as our coach, because he is our coach. If he can live up to his pedigree then I think we got a good one. If not we'll be doing this again in a couple of years.

FWIW, Hat now hates both of our coaches and loves both coaches at USC. Well, he hates Bruce and thinks Dooley will be football's Wade Houston. Lane is his favorite UT football coach during his lifetime, and O'Neill is a Trap favorite.

I'm not exactly jumping up and down over Dooley, but in a strange way, I look forward to listening to Hat discuss both coaches. Fall 2008 all over again. And, if Bruce and Dooley are here to stay, well, there's always Los Angeles.

All of this. This post sums up how I feel.

Good grief, I do not want Fulmer as AD. I am not ready to push out MH, but it's close. And, I fully agree with the above poster's assessment of the Dooley hire. Lane Kiffin left us with little to work with. It was going to be hard getting a more proven coach to "kiff" his program. And, had we hired Kippy after all those other names reportedly turned us down, it would have looked like no one at all wanted our job. Plus, Dooley's actually been a head coach somewhere other than the XFL. Kippy would have been at least as big of a risk as Dooley.

If it counts for anything, their are tigers on the droppings saying they wished Miles would have bolted for Michigan so they could have snagged Dooley.

He paid a lot of money to develop depth at the AD position, but, at the same time proved why we need it.

You should have had another question of "Do you believe Dooley will be a good coach?" I think Dooley may end up turning into a good or even great coach, but it still is a bad hire. Dooley is still too much of a gamble and uncertain for it to be considered a good hire. It's a gamble hire that may payoff big time but also may cause us to lose it all.

no on all accounts. i've never been a huge fan of hamilton ever since he became AD 7 years ago, but i started warming up to him a little when he contributed to the revilitilization of the basketball program by hiring pearl. my opinion has plummeted on him recently though........especially with today's hiring. hopefully it works out, but i'm not too optimistic right now.

1. I'd rather see Madeleine Albright naked than see Fulmer as AD.

2. Grudging yes.

3. We're Tennessee. We've been making risky hires since Major Neyland replaced M.B. Banks. Yes.
