Did Cutcliffe Hurt Fulmer?

Must we spell everything out (which, I am sure, has been done already). Anyway, here goes

Cutliff away, Fulmer BAD
Culiff here, Fulmer OK

That pretty much sums it up . . . except when you spelled it out, you misspelled Cutcliffe . . . twice . . . but who's counting? :p

Name all the offensive coordinators that you can think of that have had 5 QBs get drafted, much less two of them go #1 and another one go in the top 10.

Lets see the only 2 starting QB's in the NFL with ties to Coach Cut are the Manning brothers. Which is more coincidental both having Coach Cut or both coming from the great Archie Manning and having NFL talent out of highschool.

Warren's not a traditional TE size-wise. He needs to be moved around and played all over the place. That hasn't been done yet and it really pisses me off.

If he was, Crompton would have been yanked at halfway through the UAB game.

Do you think most of this is CPF letting his personal attachments with different players get in the way of putting the best talent we have on the field?

It's hard to judge Clawson if he can't even pick who plays when. As I understand it, his whole philosophy about playmakers depends on picking the ones he wants for the plays he calls, right?

Pryor probably would've been moved to defensive back. He didn't want to play D at Tennessee.

1. Probably but he knew what was at stake after the UGA game. Either the other guys have no idea what they're doing or they suck or CPF is really hardheaded. All 3 are possible.

2. Clawson's been good everywhere he's been. He didn't just start sucking as a coach. He did say and this is what makes me wonder about him is that, and I paraphrase, the schemes are less complex in the SEC they just are great athletes that stop you.

Man... that's really bad. I struggle at times on here, but why would Cut have possibly recruited Pryor to play a position at which we obviously need help, and then hand him over to the D where we have one of the best secondaries in the nation? Dude... Cut is no fool.

Hi all! I've been looking in on this board for a while and I just had to get in on this topic. I think Cut leaving did hurt Fulmer. The evidence is clear that when Cut was here, we won games, when he left both times, the team suffered. IMO Cut is really underrated. I don't understand why either. I know some will blast me for this but I wouldn't mind seeing Cut as HC at UT. I think he would do a fantastic job. Anyway thats my two cents, take it for what its worth.

LONG LIVE COACH CUT!!!:worship: (just kidding)

This is proof positive Fulmer is a loser. Do you think a top QB recruit would even consider not going to FL,AL or GA because they lost their offensive coordinator? The answer is no because they trust the head coach of those programs because they know they will get it done. It's bad when highschool kids can figure out the assistants are better then head coach but loyal fans of Fulmer can not.

Hmmm...I think OC matters a lot to a QB recruit. Tajh Boyd is my cousin's step-mother's ex-pimps drug counselor's psychic friend's nephew, maybe we could ask him!

Thanks Justin. It's quite a confusing situation. I'll be glad when the season is over.

I hope Clawson gets a shot somewhere. That way everyone will know if it is him or CPF.

I personally think he'll be a good coach somewhere.

I don't think UT would have had a shot at Pryor in the end. If he was so hot to play for Cut, he could have followed him to Duke.

Maybe Pryor knew that he wouldn't be surrounded by the same calibur of athletes or maybe couldn't live up to Dukes academic standards.

Agreed. Clawson is going to be a victim of a coaching change. Fulmer did not allow the true open competition at QB that Clawson wanted and he also prevented Clawson from benching Crompton earlier in the season.

It's most likely that the new HC will clean house unless Clawson and others can amazingly impress him.

I also expect the new HC to be a similar hire as MH's past hires: Energetic, driven, a HC at a smaller school.

Pryor would have been on a team with more W's at this point (vs.UT)[/QUOTE

touche' but I think we all would agree that the talent level at UT far exceeds that at Duke. In my opinion just goes to show how good of a coach Cut is. He is getting wins out of less talent.
