I think so. If UT had a half-decent QB this could have been quite a different game. The difference in the game was offensive players behind center. Florida had the box stacked and Montario damn near ran for 100.

Yes.

Our play calling in the first half was outstanding. We were one Hardesty slip up and G Jones foot OOB from being tied up at the half.

Defensive game plan was outstanding.

Considering the disparity in talent, we outcoached them for sure.

A team that won the NC last year and is undefeated this year, returns every offensive / defensive starter and over half of their backups from the previous season; plays a team that had a losing record last season and just last week lost to an average UCLA last week, and the NC team only won by 10 at home in a so-called 'rival' game, and you're asking this question? :eek:hmy:

UCLA is not an average team, Their a lot better than they were thought to be! Florida would have trouble beating them!

Out coached at every level... I even liked Kiffin's last call although we didn't have a qb able to complete it

I think the game plan, and in general, the execution was solid. FL is going to make some plays. TN basically took the high "firepower" away and exposed them somewhat.

Like him or not, TT but the gator offense on his back and carried them. We just couldn't get the same on our O side despite the gritty running of Hardesty and a pretty good overall job by the O line.

Not only did our guys outcoach Meyer, but it's possible that this is the first time Meyer has ever been so nakedly outcoached in his life. He turned a giant revenge game and a huge talent advantage into a measly 10 point win. Going to be interesting to see how he fares next year without Jesus the Quarterback.

Oh yeah, and those lame Miami fans sure are awfully disappointed with their 2-0 team that's ranked 1st in the ACC Coastal division.

Yup, jokes on them! Should've seen the looks on their faces when their team beat rival Florida State, ranked in the Top 20 at the time, and then followed that up by throttling a Top 15 ranked Georgia Tech team.

A wise man once said, "The first time you quit, it's hard. The second time, it gets easier. The third time, you don't even have to think about it." There's one thing for certain, the Volunteers did not quit during this game. That's a direct reflection of the coaching staff. We may have lost this battle, but eventually we will win this war.

By the way, that wise man was Bear Bryant.

I think it was a good game. Exciting and showed that the UT staff can compete with teams that have overwhelming talent advantages. Imagine what will happen in a year or two when UT has the talent...

JC played a decent game today, but he just doesn't have the inate ability to see the field. He has the physical tools, he just doesn't have the vision. No amount of coaching can fix this problem.

The winning game plan against Florida has always been to run the ball, and control the time of possession, keeping their offense off of the field. In this game, it was the UT defense that took away two drives from Florida and gave UT the chance to score. This is what kept us in the game, and it is a direct result of excellent defensive coaching by Monte Kiffin.

Short out passes and rushing plays eat up time and keep the Florida offense off of the field, assuming you can convert the third downs. It is very seldom that anyone wins a shoot-out with the Gators. Our coaches' game plan was on the money IMO, and with the exception of the turnovers, it wouldn't have mattered who the QB was in today's game.
