I heard today that Arching Manning said that Brohm was the best freshman QB in the country. Anybody hear that?

I am suprised a little since Brohm has only really played in mop up roles.

IMO the kid at Meeeesheeegan is the best freshman QB based on stats this year. That's not to take anything away from Brent and Eric.

I would have to agree that Henne is probably the best at this point, and he has played all year.

Wow, Bham, I'd forgotten that picture of Bobby The Paperboy!!

That was taken in 1975 when UT scheduled a twelfth game against the U. of Hawaii Rainbows. As I recall the team took up a collection to buy Bobby a plane ticket and pay for his room.

I also remember running into Bobby in the lobby of the Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta the year the basketball team went down there to play UCLA. It was the night before, he was drunk as a skunk, and on top of the world!

Ainge and Schaeffer are really talented as well... Their stats

Ainge 109/198 for 1452 yards, 17 TD's, 9 INT's, average rating of 135.9
Schaeffer 17/33 for 291 yards, 2 TD's, 1 INT, average rating of 139.5

After Ainge's games against Florida (16/24 for 192 yards, 3 TD's, 1 INT) And Georgia, (12/21 for 150 yards, 2 TD's and no INT's) I still say he shows a lot of promise, and his season was unfortunately cut short. Ainge may yet turn into the player Fulmer came all the way out to Oregon to get.

Brohm was pushed into the game way too early, Louisville tried to rush his progression when he should've been redshirted or been on the bench all year.

Stephan LeFors won the starting job twice basically. He started the season out, then Louisville got this crazy idea of switching series with him and Brohm and it wasn't until their game against Miami that woke them up and realized that LeFors should be the full-time starter.

Nope... very different. Lefors is a senoir QB that did a really fine job last year. UT on the other hand, had no one else.
