It looked like on the follow-up rebound by Vandy that won the game, all of Tennessee's players were frozen in place and stayed flat footed,no blocking out, kind of like a deer that freezes up in headlights.Weird.

Stallings outcoached Pearl. It hurts to say that, and it'll likely never happened again, but in that last 3.7 seconds, Vandy had a better game plan.

Did they show Lofton's bomb before halftime?

I'll have to catch the BP Show this week and check that out.

I just watched the play on Vandy's website. The breakdown started with Lofton and ended with two Vols picking up the player who beat Lofton. Lofton ended up on Byars by the time the ball was thrown in. Lofton failed to commit the foul and got beat pretty bad. Ramar and Crews both left their men to pick up the driving Byars, and both of their men kinda snuck up to the other side of the basket. There were no blockouts, because everybody left their men. It was a ridiculously easy putback.

What I'd also like to see is how we let them throw the ball to midcourt. The degree of difficulty for VU dropped a lot when they got the ball to midcourt. Yes, Stallings topped Pearl on the final sequence. Great gameplan against a team trying to foul. Oh well. I am moving on to the Lady Vols tonight and the OSU game on tv Saturday.

Vandy set a good screen on the inbounds play. Lofton had to switch to that guy, he was a little late, so Duke and Ramar had to come over and help. The guy did miss the shot, but when Duke left his player he was wide open for the tip in. Can't really blame anybody

If you thinka bout it, it's kindda like this in football.

A team in driving down with just a couple of seconds left in the game. The catch the ball at 2 yard line. Our defense goes for the guy, hits him and he fumbles the ball, but the fumbles the ball into the endzone and one of their guys falls on the ball to get a TD.

After Byars beat Lofton, ideally either Crews or Ramar would have helped, and the other one would have stayed behind and boxed out, but, in the spur of the moment, they both helped. In hindsight, we may have been better off not committing the first foul, but I have not seen that play. Perhaps they would have put up a hurried shot from further away. Instead, they got to draw something up. Then again, at UF last year and against TX this year, we got TOs in that spot. Here's a suggestion: Let's put this all behind us by winning on Saturday! It could happen.
