With no running game and a vicious pass rush, obviously receivers MUST get open on short routes, or create separation within 6 yards on longer routes in man-to-man. Going into the game, I thought that would be our worst matchup--our receivers against their secondary.
To the few fans who watch for such things, did that happen very often?
I only "saw" the game on radio. The announcers commented on it a few times, and it sounded like our long completions were simply "jump balls" where an otherwise covered Palmer just took it away from the defender(s).
