Did anyone just see Dick Vitale rip Mike Hamilton for about 2 minutes on ESPN

Vitale defended Jim Harrick when he was at UGA. Of course he's going to go after Hamilton in spite of Pearl's actions.

As another poster said in another thread, Hamilton's timing, whether you agree with it or not, officially began UT's search for a new coach.

Wow, Dick Vitale just went on a 2 minute speech about how Mike Hamilton lied to him about Pearl definitely coming back to coach Tennessee earlier in the season. He called for Hamilton's job and said Hamilton has made too many mistakes. He was pretty pissed off with Hamilton's actions last week. Think what you want about Pearl, but Hamilton needs to be shown the door.
Vitale ripped Bruce Pearl for 5 months for lying to the NCAA and now he wants to glaze over his statements and blame Mike Hamilton. That is priceless.:eek:lol:

Mike Hamilton did the right thing to protect the UT brand.

protect himself or the UT brand? if he was looking after the UT brand why didn't he fire Pearl months ago, why didn't he crack down on Kiffin when needed, Mike is about money and himself, he needs to be gone.

Keeping Pearl on at the point of the season when this all began was the only thing he could in order to keep the UT basketball door on it's hinges.

You care to tell us how he was supposed to know that Kiffin and Reaves were doing in secret behind his back? ADs can't know everything that is going on, especially clandestine actions like that.

You and others will eventually see the light and realize that what he did was the best thing any AD could have done under the circumstances.

You are so exactly right. I listened (it was difficult I admit) to Vitale's halftime speech during one game and I thought that before he was over, he was going to pull out an AK-47 and fill CBP's image on the TV screen full of holes.:machgun:

I can't stand Dick Vitale, but the douche is absolutely right in ripping Hammy. What Hammy did was lowdown and dirty. Hamiliton should have kept his big mouth shut and fired Pearl after the tournament. Like them or not, Hamilton stabbed 2 Tennessee icons in the back...

Hamilton's comments didn't cause us to lose by 30 to a mediocre Michigan team. If people REALLY think that, then they need their head examined.

I must say I was surprised by Dukie V's spew! As everyone knows, he is ALWAYS about the regal society of college hoops, RARELY is favorable toward UT in any way, and it is real! The best thing Cheek, et al could do is fire MH at the same time as BP at this point....enough is enough!!!

you say that like he didn't know ANY infractions they committed, because he knew some, and chose to do nothing. He should of monitored them better. There are quite a few people in the school and on ESPN calling for his head, they have their reasons for it ya know.

Love your post man. At some point after Hamilton and Pearl are gone, they'll fade from our memory. But unfortunately, the nausea created by Vitale's drivel will still be around until he draws his last breath
You are so full of shi

and furthermore I used white font above for a good ddamned reason. :hi:

...as did Bilas, Barkley, Smith, Williams, and every other analyst/announcer/color commentator (to some degree) that was asked their opinion of M Hamilton's inappropriate and ill-timed remark and in doing so (M Hamilton) committed irreparable damage to himself/career.

When Dick Vitale has absolutely no standing to complain about anything at Tennessee. Mike Hamilton owes him nothing, not even an interview. Big hat, no cattle for Mr. Vitale.

The day when a school should listen to Charles Barkley and Dick Vitale for advice on hiring and firing matters, is the day that we should stop fielding sports teams at UT.

FYI, it is not anyone's job to baby-sit a coach every second of the day.

not only is he incompetent having all major men's sports being investigated but to leave Charlotte after throwing his bomb and apologizing to the coaching staff is the stuff weasels are made of. Your claim that ignorance is blind is out and out BS.

Using the Kiffin fiasco to bash Hamilton is simply playing Monday Morning Quarterback. The vast majority of fans, including me, were all for Kiffin and excited as Hell about the hire. It simply could not have been foreseen what happened next. As for Pearl, most of the "I hate Mike" people love Pearl; news flash: Hamilton hired Pearl and would keep him in a heartbeat if it was a possibility.

The biggest criticism I have for Hamilton was giving Failmer that ridiculous contract.

Mike Hamilton is an idiot.

Dick Vitale isn't exactly the intellectual leader of the basketball commentator community. In almost every instance, his "insights" and "analysis" are merely a repeat of the conventional wisdom. Other than his catch-phrases and his sloppy love affair with Jimmy V, there isn't much there.

That being said, I agree that Hamilton sucks. I'm ready for him to be gone so that the last bit of the Kiffin stench can be vanquished from our collective memory.

As for Pearl, I just want the drama to be over so we (and our players) can focus on the court instead of the circus outside of it.

dooley for a.d.:peace2::loco::rock::worship::clap:
