Did anyone just see Dick Vitale rip Mike Hamilton for about 2 minutes on ESPN

Wow, Dick Vitale just went on a 2 minute speech about how Mike Hamilton lied to him about Pearl definitely coming back to coach Tennessee earlier in the season. He called for Hamilton's job and said Hamilton has made too many mistakes. He was pretty pissed off with Hamilton's actions last week. Think what you want about Pearl, but Hamilton needs to be shown the door.

Vitale's a moron. Hamilton probably did say that, but Vitale's too stupid to know that Pearl committed the bump violation and decided to not report it. That's the reason he'll be gone.

Hamilton made a big error if he wanted to get out of all of this with a job. He needed to fly below the radar and hope this all blows over...instead he has brought the spotlight squarly on himself...RIP Hamilton.

I'm really surprised that people think that Hamilton just made a rogue move by doing that interview. I'd be shocked if the people that matter didn't know about it and approve it.

If this is true, they set his butt up, too. Like leading a lamb to slaughter.

Dick Vitale, Barkley, Jay Williams, and a couple of other people have stated it was ignorant of Hamilton.

Vitale has been the voice of college basketball for over 20 years. He is anything but a moron and may be biased towards Duke, but the guy knows what he is talking about. Hamilton made a giant mistake, he put gas on the fire that was already burning and I really don't think he is going to get out of this mistake with his job. Like I said, say what you want about Pearl, but people are definitely coming after Hamilton. QuizNVol get back to your partying in Charleston, gotta get to mine in Houston.

You mean the bump that UT said wasn't a compliance issue so it wasn't reported... lol

No, I mean the bump that Bruce Pearl never told compliance and never told anyone about until the NCAA informed UT about it. Nice try.

Mike Hamilton is an idiot.

Dick Vitale isn't exactly the intellectual leader of the basketball commentator community. In almost every instance, his "insights" and "analysis" are merely a repeat of the conventional wisdom. Other than his catch-phrases and his sloppy love affair with Jimmy V, there isn't much there.

That being said, I agree that Hamilton sucks. I'm ready for him to be gone so that the last bit of the Kiffin stench can be vanquished from our collective memory.

As for Pearl, I just want the drama to be over so we (and our players) can focus on the court instead of the circus outside of it.

I could care less what Dick Vitale says. However, can we all agree that Mike Hamilton should move on? I don't think everyone on here will ever agree about what to do with Pearl, but does anyone here think Hamilton should stay?

If Pearl should be fired for lying to the NCAA, then Hamilton should be fired for lying to Dicky V! End of story!!

Dick Vitale is an idiot who carries grudges, I don't care what he says. His opposition actually makes me more inclined to want to keep Hamilton.

Pearl lied to the NCAA, most of the time that's enough to get you fired.
Hamilton was the AD of an athletic department that was investigated in the only three sports that matter. Two of which are now in the penalty phase. Most of the time that's enough to get you fired.

Dicky also said we WOULD beat Michigan, so I don't think he is just trying to bash us. He dislikes Hamilton with good reason. I think if anyone on ESPN were asked the question they would say he should go.. If I'm correct Skip Bayless said it as well. Everyone is thinking he needs to be gone.I will respect UT if we stick by our guy when everyone is saying give him the door, but do I think it would be a good idea to keep him??... no.

Forget Bruce for a second. Hammy's presser was a cheap, unfair shot to level at the student-athletes on the basketball team. To put all the emotional baggage on the court for such an important game is at best irresponsible, and at worst inexcusable.

Vitale's turn around is remarkable in a sense. If I remember correctly, DV was calling for Bruce's head almost immediately. To have BP's back now (sort of) is quite surprising.

For Hammy's sake, I hope he and the trustees have already found the second coming of Mike Krzyzewski and offered him the keys to the vault. With his track record, he probably thinks Isiah Thomas has done enough at FIU to deserve the UT job.

Before it recently got out that UT found out about the bump from the NCAA, it was out there that UT didn't report it, because they didn't think it was a violation.

So, first we heard UT chose not to report it. Then, we later heard the coaching staff chose not to report it, because they thought it was not a violation.

This is so true. Hammy would turn the keys of our program over to a 5th grader. He has consistently shown he cannot hire.
