Did anyone go to the game?

Yes. It was weird. COVID football is different. In a way, I liked it better because we had so much room and didn’t have to wait in long lines.

When UT made a good play, it got nearly silent. Almost no ambient noise with so few people and some wearing masks the entire time.
I could hear the USC players on the bench talking.
they are dysfunctional. Lots of blaming going on between players.

I was there. Pretty weird. Felt like a big high school game with a jumboTron and piped in noise.

No lie. Blown pixels everywhere. Can't believe they paid to put a bronze chicken out front, but the tron looked like a 15 year old TV.View attachment 309708

We have a statue of General Neyland, considered THE best or one of the best defensive coaches in the history of football.

USCe has a large rooster.

Kinda sums up the history of these two programs!

The funny part about the statue in Columbia - as pointed out to me by a Gamecock fan, there are no spurs on the statue . . . which makes it NOT a gameock, but instead just a large, angry chicken.

Probably left the spurs off to appease PETA and not glorify the sport...you know like their name.

I commented last night in the OGT that it sounded like the small contingency of Vol faithful were making some noise whenever we made a play. Didn’t make sense to me that sc would be piping in noise for positive TN plays . Not sure exactly what was going on but I could definitely hear people cheering on the Vols after big plays.

Considering spurs occur naturally on roosters (just like on gobblers) you would think PETA would support an accurate depiction of the bird.

That chicken though...

As far as sculptures go... What is that black stuff at the bottom? Is it unfinished? Pretty weird to have a black cloth wrapped pedestal.

It was great having light traffic before and after the game. Also you can make a concession/restroom run easily whenever you needed to.

During the actual game I almost didn’t notice the small crowd until we’d make a good play and I would jump up to yell and only hear complete silence other than myself. They were well below their max reduced capacity as well.

Statue is packing heat. More than the team.
I thought the televised game had the loudest crowd of the day after watching SECNetwork games and the MSSt-LSU all day long.
I wondered if the crowd was miced differently or was actually louder, which is possible. Every stadium has its own sound environment.

The chicken was fully funded by a few private donors looking to have a signature statue.

With Muschmap's $12 million buyout plus over a mil for the staff, they may want the million they spent on it back.

In 2020, I can't believe someone hasn't complained about their mascot being offensive since it symbolizes an illegal event and "unethical treatment of an animal". But instead they celebrate it with a ridiculous statue of a fighting chicken.

Fighting Chicken Lives Matter !
