He was scheduled to be on sports talk with wilkerson and hyams today at 3:15ish
I heard it he was just talking about seeing all the fans out Friday night and that they didn't want to have to turn anyone away and thinks they will now be allowed to get 12,000 in said they were competing with the Fire Marshall about it or something to that extent also said they were a just a few minutes from going out to practice.

I heard the whole interview.

He commented on the "pumping gas" story, and said it was really unfortunate, considering he prides himself on never resorting to negative recruiting. He also said he talked to the recruit, and the recruit said he didn't know where that story came from and felt sorry that it was reported.

He said Gerald Jones had an EXCELLENT practice on Tuesday, and he was probably the offensive MVP of the first practice.

He said Brandon Warren struggled slightly on Tuesday, but that's expected since he's changed positions. Kiffin said Warren's not lagging behind though, and he made 2 great plays.

He said Morley would practice today, and also mentioned that Morley has set himself back and he needs to hustle if he wants to start.

He said McClendon was sick with a fever and was excused from practice on Tuesday.

That's about it. It wasn't a very long interview because they were getting ready to start practice. And that practice is probably almost over now.

He also mentioned that Aaron Douglas struggled switching to O-Line but, like Warren, it was to be expected due to the position change. He said Douglas will be good for them there due to his size and footwork.

From GVX:

Tennessee football coach Lane Kiffin was interviewed Thursday on The Sports Animal by Jimmy Hyams and John Wilkerson this afternoon. Here are some of the highlights:

*Kiffin said the ESPN report earlier this week about receiver prospect Alshon Jeffrey was disappointing and really discouraging.

Kiffin said he talked to Jeffrey this week. Kiffin said Jeffrey denied saying that Kiffin told him he would be pumping gas like all of the other prospects that went to South Carolina if he chose to sign with South Carolina.

*Kiffin said Tennessee’s quarterbacks completed 73-percent of their passes on Tuesday, the first day of spring practice.

*Kiffin lauded Gerald Jones, calling the receiver the most valuable player of Tuesday’s practice.

*Brandon Warren, who was moved from receiver to tight end before spring practice began, showed flashes but struggled at times on Tuesday. The same held true for Aaron Douglas, who was moved from tight end to offensive tackle.

*Jacques McClendon didn’t participate fully in practice on Tuesday because he was ill. The offensive guard tried to practice through a fever but was pulled from practice by trainers.

*Safety Demetrice Morley will return to practice today after missing Tuesday as punishment for being late for a meeting earlier in the day. The senior will have to work his way back into the rotation, Kiffin said.

*Kiffin jokingly (maybe) invited anybody who could throw a football to join the team as a walk-on to give the Vols more depth at quarterback in practice. Kiffin said holder Bram Cannon threw some on Tuesday.

UT is down to two quarterbacks – Jonathan Crompton and B.J. Coleman – since Nick Stephens suffered a broken wrist last week.

Didn't hear the interview but was excited to read about some of the highlights of what sounded like a good practice. Good that McClendon showed some toughness and was pulled from practice, rather than not even trying to participate.
