:huh:But, arguably, and you'd need an argument. Tennessee has realistically the best offensive and defensive player in the National Football League. That being Peyton Manning and Albert Haynesworth. If this thread needs to be moved, oh well.

Maybe at their respective positions, but Tom Brady & Ben Roethlisberger got the diamonds & the dames on their fingers.

Haynesworth can be a monster, but I would rather have a healthy Tommie Harris or Pat Williams.

Big Albert is a monster when his next contract is on the line. Period. I hope he proves that statement wrong in D.C. but I won't hold my breath.

Over/Under on how many times he hobbles off the field this year appearing to be seriously injured, when really he is just a little out of breath? I'll set it at 15.

Also did anybody notice that Arron Sears is listed as a DT for the Bucs?http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/gamelog?playerId=10479&sYear=2008

Jabari Greer should help the Saints out quite a bit. Just throwin it out there

Big Al will be a bust in DC. 15 limp off the fields want even be close. Unless he lays down half way through the season with a season ending injury. Otherwise he will limp off at least 25 to 30 times.

The biggest thing about Big Al when he played for the Titans was he would play good, but it would only be every other play. He was always kneeling down every 1 out of 3 plays after the play. They would help him off, everyone would think he was hurt, then he would be back like a play or two later. I dont know if he has breathing problems or what, but this would happen every series of the game. Almost made me think of him as lazy. JMO.

No way Haynesworth is the best defensive player in the league. Can't think of anyone who is paid more, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's the best in the league.

You can also lobby for a few other players being the best at their position at a certain moment in time. Not having as much longevity at their stature as say Peyton, but the position always helps.

Jamal Lewis was very dominant for a couple years.
Travis Henry had a couple great seasons.
Leonard Little
Al Wilson

Jerod Mayo may be the next big thing, he definitely was a force to reckon with his first year, last year.

Well this all just furthers the fact that we're really good at producing NFL talent, doesn't it?

Best player on offense in the league - Tom Brady
Best player on defense in the league - Ray Lewis/Ed Reed/Troy Polamalu(sp?)

Tom Brady was pre-injury. We've yet to see him back out on the field taking hits after a very long rehab

If you take Manning over Brady, you are taking stats over wins and championships.

But not with Randy Moss? Brady never won anything by himself. And I'm not about to call Ben Roethlisberger the second best QB in the league.

You would also be taking player over system, defense etc.

For the record I think Brady and Manning are pretty even (slight nod to manning). Brady is more a product of the system IMO and benefited tremendously from playing in his coaches system and defense.

Who said anything about Big Ben being number 2?
I'm pretty sure Brady won Super Bowls with a hodgepodge collection of WR's.

And the best defense in the game. WR is the most overrated position in the game today, in fact some of the best systems (most successful) in the game today do not rely heavily on big play makers at that position.

No, but he had arguably the worst supporting cast for a SB winning team in a long while.

If you're going by wins and championships, Big Ben is bested only by Tom and Randy Moss is a loser.
