Haven't seen this topic on here yet, but if it is, feel free to merge.

Anyone else think Vitale is off his rocker? I mean aside from general terms. He wants the NCAA to look into not having foul-outs anymore. And after a person commits his 5th foul, every foul that player commits after that results in 2 shots and the ball for the opponents. He was complaining because Hibert fouled out after only playing 16 minutes in the game. Guess he doesn't think that Hibert should just be disciplined enough to learn how to play defense without fouling. Oh yea, and Stephen A Smith is in Dick's corner as well. As if anything that guy says has any merit.

That would be stupid. I thought Bob Knight had lost it when he wanted 128 teams in the NCAA tourney. They both are old and are losing their minds

P.S. speaking of Bob Knight, rumor down here in bama is that bama is trying to get bobby to coach them. if he agrees they will fire Gottfried(sp?)

but then again it's bama, these ppl are morons

Vitale has officialy lost what mind he had left. No wonder him and Knight are so close.

Steven A Smith just wants the college game turned into the street ball type game the pros play. You know the one that depending on who you are you can take extra steps. Basically just bend the rules for elite players. And that is exactly why people don't watch the pro game anymore.

Vitale is a moron. If you want to do it that way, make it 1 point plus 1 FT for each foul over the limit plus the ball. Making that foul potentially worth over 5 points. Can you imagine how long it would take to play Memphis if nobody fouled out? Everybody would just foul them on every posession because they can't hit the FT's.

By the way, everyone gets away with the extra steps in the NBA.

You are correct. But if you are an elite player you can pretty much get away with anything short of punching somebody.

Haha no joke. I'm pretty sure any decent coach who has a guy in that deep of foul trouble wouldn't play him anyway because two shots and the ball in a tight game can kill you. Overall, Dickie V is just a complete babbling idiot. He's got Duke rammed through his throat and UNC is so far up his arse that he doesn't know any better.

I loved the look on Knight's face the other night when Vitale went into his "Robert Montgomery Knight should be the next coach at Indiana" shtick. I thought Knight was going to reach through the screen and choke Vitale.

I wish they would make it 6 fouls and your out in the college game....I think that would work better, especially with the piss-poor officiating we have witnessed this year.

5 fouls, we're dealing with less time than the NBA game.

The *only* things that need to be done right now are to move the three point line back to NBA range and shave some time off the shot clock.

And add the semi-circle under the basket to cut down on all the floppage.
