Last week I checked up on Will McBride, one of the quarterbacks Butch left behind. Will transferred from UT to Lamar Univ., a small college in Texas. It seems that Will is not now playing for Lamar - he quit after getting beat out at qb and he didn't want to be a backup.
Anyway Mauer and Shrout were solid recruits. Maurer is injury prone and cannot seem to stay in the rotation. Time for Bailey - scrimmage 3 days a week or something to get him prepared. Shrout deserves a chance against Alabama. He should not have been pulled against KY - No way he could not have performed better than JG if left in the game. Chaney, Tee and Weinke need to work night and day with the remaining qb options. Surely there is one that can provide a lift for the team and allow them to compete.
