DG's Thoughts After the LSU Bludgeoning!

I think voters will put us ahead of Ok St. They will keep USCw and Clemson ahead of us. SC because of the brand. Clemson because of recency bias.

They might, but Oklahoma State has been very impressive this year. I'd probably go:

1. Bama
2. Georgia
3. Ohio State
4. Clemson
5. OK State
6 Michigan
7. Tennessee

Difficult to rank us above those top 6. We have 3 wins against legit competition, but Florida and LSU are borderline top 25 at best and Pitt has not been impressive at all.

5 of those 6 teams have quality wins better than ours. Oklahoma State thrashed a good Baylor team. Clemson beat the 2 other best teams in the ACC (Wake Forest and NC State). Michigan may be an exception, but they've looked very good; but they'll face their first real test next week against Penn State. I could see a case for us above Michigan.

USC ... you're right, they'll keep them ranked higher because of their brand, but they haven't beat anyone. Next week vs Utah is their first real competition all season.

You might be right, but they have the talent of a top 15 team, but they certainly haven't played to their potential. From a talent perspective, though, LSU is a better team than Florida. Napier did a much better job coaching against us than Brian Kelly.

If you are only looking at individual recruiting rankings certainly LSU has very good to even elite talent but that group is at war with each other and with the staff and it is very obvious no one has bought into what Kelly is doing there. Lots of talent all around but that is a really bad football team. It’s going to take Kelly a while to change the mindset and turn that program around.

I wouldnt be surprised if Florida wipes the floor with them next week in Gainesville.
