i hate to see Hurd injured, but I'm really hoping to see a new offensive game plan for our two shifty backs. I'm actually looking forward to something different. What changes do y'all expect to see when Kamara gets the majority of the snaps?

I expect similar play calls but Kamara just runs differently than Hurd. Kamara takes the stretch play hits a cut a full speed then explodes for a gain of 4 whereas Hurd drops a shoulder creates contact and gets his yards by moving you out of his way.

This will be interesting to see if the change of running styles impacts how fast UT can wear down the A&M defense.

Stop with the middle runs. Those no-gainers are killing us. The only holes we get are the ones when we pull a guard.

I don't think you'll see much different. We ran this same system with Worley at qb and he's just slightly faster than I am

How do you know did you ever see him keep or run the ball?

Hate not having Hurd we know he's gonna go out and fight and gain yards. But our offense is really made for Kamara and Kelly. Think we could see some big plays for one or both of them.

Keep them both in the backfield and run more sweeps.

If Kelly gets in more than a dozen touches I believe we may see a bust out approaching "why hasn't this guy played more, wow!"

Yes. He kept it a handful of times, and then we saw why he only kept it a handful of times.

The entire point of him running it was to keep a defender on the backside of the play. Just about anybody can run for a few yards if nobody is defending them.

How good is Kelly at catching out of the backfield?

The second half of Ga. game will/could give you some idea how the game plan may look with Kamara getting the most work.

Saw A&M play vs Arky....very fast, very athletic, very aggressive, especially their safeties coming up in run support. While I understand your point in wanting to get Kamara and Kelly on the edges more than with Jalen, I'm not sure it'll work vs their very fast defense. AK is 215 and JK is 212 and both have excellent burst and quickness. Certainly we should try the edges for balance, but I think we may actually have more success with those guys hitting creases (hopefully we'll see a few) between the tackles. Jmo.

Kamara and especially Kelly are great backs for the stretch play. The A&M defense will have to have great gap discipline or either of these guys can plant a foot in the ground and be gone in a flash. Kelly in particular is a threat to take that play to the house. Should be fun to watch.

Gonna be hard for those safeties to provide run support when they know Jennings is running past them.

That'd be great and I'd guess we'll see Dobbs taking shots downfield to JJ and Malone early. TAM supposedly has 3 future NFL DBs, 2 safeties and a nickel. However, I've heard the weakness in their defense is at corner.
