Are you equating a pro team with a college rebuilding job?

It's actually pretty similar. Stafford, Johnson, Best, Suh, etc... are all very talented, but to expect the young guys to go dominate proven NFL players and teams is just dumb. Guess what, they took their lumps and now they are dishing out punishment.

It'd be pretty similar if we could have gotten Jadeveon Clowney, Seantreal Henderson, and Ronald Powell.

It's not anywhere close to that.

We have a great nucleus here. Just because you want to ignore it, doesn't mean it's not there. They are going to take their lumps, but they will be dominant the next two years assuming some don't go pro after next year.

If we could buy the best Dline in the country like the Lions did we might be National champs if all our offensive weapons were not sidelined.

Here's my question because it has been apparent that you can't use any legitimate reasons or they get called "excuses." The Lions had virtually the same team last year, why were they average?

Can't use youth, injuries, depth, or talent as an excuse.

Jim Schwartz turn into a genius over a year?

I thought the OP wasn't allowed to post threads anymore... Especially something that has no connection to Tennessee Football in the Tennessee Football Forum.

You're the one who put it in the Vols forum.

They added some key players and he has his system in place.

2-14
6-10
5-0 - if they hold on

Jim Schwartz fielded awesome defenses on the Titans. Everything is just clicking for them now.

Btw, you can use injuries as an excuse. Especially when Stafford only played 3 games last year. That changes everything

In no way is this relevant to UT's situation. Sucking in the NFL gives you the inside track to getting the best players to build a team with. Sucking in college football basically takes you out of the running for the best players.

Seriously. Schwartz is a proven, hell of a coach. I sincerely hope you are not trying to compare UT football to a NFL team. Not even apples and oranges.
