I'm still rooting for this team. These kids showed heart, and I will gladly support a group like the players we have.
Coaching, at least in some instances, failed them. They made some mistakes. Bray may not be the clutch QB we need to win in this league. We could use a better pass rush or run defense. Depth at key line positions continues to be a major issue. Nonetheless, I'll root for these guys and hope they grow over the course of the season.
What can you do? We're all here because we love the Vols. It's a tough road ahead any way you slice it; new coach? Rebuilding. New players? Acclimation period. All I know is that I'll watch the kids play ball on Saturdays, and sometimes Fridays...and hope for the best.
I want to get back to winning championships as much as anybody. Believe me. I've suffered countless indignities living in Texas and representing UT for the past 8 years. It will come.
Until then, I'm not going to bash these kids for their effort. I won't call for our coaches heads despite the track record and other prevailing circumstances.
Go Vols! Let's win a few football games and hopefully have leadership within the AD to find the right path forward.
