CFP director Hancock: We're planning on playoff

"We're planning on a CFP," he said. "That's what our staff is doing as we speak. Planning for it on time."

When asked what would happen if there wasn't a season, Hancock said, "It's too soon to speculate."

"It's only April," he said. "It's just too soon. It's premature. The decision about whether to have a season and a CFP won't be made by the coaches and commissioners. It will be made by the medical people. We have to be prepared, and we will be prepared, to have a CFP."

"There's a long ramp-up time for this," he said. "Could it be shorter? Sure. What is it? I don't know. Would it be the same? No, it wouldn't be the same. I can promise you the Super Bowl people are knee deep into Tampa prep right now. Knee deep. We all do the same thing. We're all very deliberate about our planning. Could we do it without that ramp-up time? Yes."

Sports will be played in empty stadiums until there is an effective treatment or a vaccine. That’s just the truth. We could see 2 full seasons of all sports played this way

Or we may see fans in stadiums with gloves and masks. I’m hoping and praying for a vaccine and/or therapeutic by this summer. That would change everything.

That's funny right there. Don't know how you could stay afloat without butts in the seats spending money.

You will likely get your wish. But as they say, be careful what you wish for; as a digital ID Tracking Device will come with it.(verification of vaccination, and without it, you can do nothing) But maybe you are ok with that. They have been waiting for an opportunity for ID Chipping, and Lo & Behold look what popped up for them to justify it. Watch what happens. The "Mark" ? Hmmm.

Vaccines take about a year to prepare and then produce, unfortunately.

I’m not okay with that. Not even close.

You are already willingly carrying around a tracking device with you; no need to implant a chip in your body.

Yep, I’ve heard that. So this started in February, so we’re looking next February if it does take a year. It seems maybe they could speed that up since the world is on pause. Oddly, a big faction in this country doesn’t seem interested in therapeutics, or speeding up vaccines, or opening the country, or solutions in general.

Yeah, BUT cell phones can be tossed or lost and used by others. Your implanted ID2020 is you and everything about you. Search that.

But you won't, and if you were that concerned about being tracked, you wouldn't be carrying it around like you already are at the moment.

By restructuring TV contracts - more butts at hone watching instead of being in the stadium

I’d love to see an in-depth article regarding the realities of restructuring television contracts if a season sans-fans is the ultimate course of action. I struggle to realize a scenario in which viewership would ever increase by more than the home stadium’s attendance, which is never going to be anything other than a small needle movement for “big” games, but maybe that additional ~100k (max) viewers for conference/premium OOC games featuring the sport’s juggernauts would change revenue dynamics especially if one were to assume that a decent portion of the added eyeballs would be from well-heeled individuals.

I’m sure all of this is being discussed right now between Birmingham, NYC and Bristol, but I’d definitely appreciate some degree of insight into a few plausible scenarios.
