He's got to be one of the most animated and easy-going coaches I've seen in interviews.

Dooley is the man! I liked the Dooley hire anyway, but I like him more and more everyday

I also liked the decision to bring him to TN! Too early to tell now but I hope he builds an era like his dad did in GA!

He fits UT like a glove, or a nice pair of silk stockings if you dont like the glove analogy!

I'm get a good impression from him! Cant wait to see how they do with Oregon!!! True first test. I do know we will know how this team will do after this game! Big first test!

I almost started a new thread to ask this, but then I thought maybe the title of this existing thread is the answer, for all I know - Dooley is hilarious.

I've been hearing that tickets were hard to find for the UT-Martin game, which I couldn't attend because of work. I'm planning to attend the Oregon game, but now I fear that tickets will be unavailable except at prohibitive prices.

My question is: why is there such interest in Tennessee football right now vs. the same time last season? I do not recall tickets being difficult to find for the Western KY game. Is there really more confidence among the fan base about Dooley and his staff, more so than there was about Kiffin and his? Is it that now people feel that we have someone coaching that will stay awhile (as someone told me yesterday)? When Kiffin was brought in, was that just too soon after Fulmer's firing for many to get on board?

People are saying that Dooley "fits," but so did Fulmer. Again, why do the masses seem to be getting on the bandwagon to a greater extent than they did last year?

I'm just curious what people think, given that a few months ago, the feeling was "who is this guy?" It just seems like the good feelings are building up, and it can't be simply due to the fact that we beat UT-Martin decisively.

I think a lot has to do with people feeling like a love for the tradition of Tennessee football is back. Kiffin never gave a crap about the things as fans that we love about the program. The history needs to be respected and Dooley does that. Plus he iss a character guy not some smack you in the face and run WWF WRASLER...yes I said WRASLER!!

Dooley's gotta be one of the most down-to-earth coaches out there. He's witty, but he can also be a reporter's worst nightmare at times. I cracked up about 3 different times watching that. I really like the guy as a person. Man I hope he turns out to be a good coach.

It will be interesting to see what kind of recruiting class our staff can reel in once they have a full season and full recruiting season to do it. Obviously Dooley and staff had the short end of the stick last recruiting season.

How much success our team has this season on the field will also determine how well we can recruit an how fast we can rebuild our team. If our D plays lights out all year I think Wilcox is a big name for defensive recruits this next season.

I had much rather listen to Coach D talk than Kiffin.
I believe the Vol Nation is more comfortable with
Coach D. Can't you just get into the twang?

I just prefer the way he handles his business over both previous coaches. I didn't even know who Dooley was at first and questioned the hire until I did some research and seen his iniial press conference. The players have seen to buy in to what he's selling, and I have also. I believe we are on our way back, and look forward to this weekends game to see for myself how far this program has came in 9 months.

The problem for the Martin game was not an elevated interest level in the program but rather a lack of season ticket sales. There were 30,000 unsold tickets on game day. Any person wanting a ticket that didn't have one when they showed up had to buy one at the ticket office. The Oregon game is pretty much sold out so I don't see the same problem this week. :good!:
