Derek Barnett for Heisman?!

In a year of broken curses, a Tennessee defensive player winning the Heisman would be quite fitting.

Love him....but no way in hell he wins the Heisman!

Him winning doesn't even matter... It's so nice for us to get this national exposure! Hell half of the GameDay's have been Vols games?!?! How does that happen? ESPN hates us. Guess the SEC Network helped with that decades long rebuttal from them. I'm on top of the world! All of the hate from opposing fan bases is icing on the cake. Team 120 is destined for greatness. Would not surprise me at all to see us win the next 2. Somethinh just seems right about everything. But.... FATTLDI!!!

What's a Heisman?

It's an irrelevant award that has a lot of tradition behind it and not much else, roughly on par with those signs leading into small towns that say "One of America's 100 Best Small Towns! - LOOK! Magazine, December 1959"

If he played in the non-important games (app st., Ohio) like he did in the important ones (UF, GA) then he might be a legitimate contender

If Louisville won the other night, I'd say it would be Jackson. I think it will hard for a Heisman winner to come from a non-playoff team. Louisville needs to win out and have a huge showing against Houston later in the season.

Surprised Barnett is mentioned. I think a bit of if has to do because he has had two big showings in the last two games. In the end, I think his tape will look more impressive than his stat sheet meaning that while I expect him to be a high draft pick, he won't be in consideration for the Heisman.

Could Barnett be worth more to his team that the actual Heisman winner?
Quite possibly, yes he could
