Wasn't Matt Merritt, who left Miami for the NFL, here for a few years?

Seems like Heupel knows how to identify good, young offensive coaches.

I know...i hate to snap at someone but man, starting all the negavol crap when they haven't even got a clue what they are talking about. i'm just too mean i guess.

He gets in on some big time guys and gets the team he recruits for in the running but he hasn’t been able to close. Think what you will of that. Got Louisville or Cincy in the running for a five star but finished the bridesmaid in that run. He’s a good position coach and I think a decent recruiter but he hasn’t got the big fish in the boat yet. Just wanted to give you some perspective but I don’t think you’re wrong. Closing is really all that counts

He hasn’t “bailed”. I don’t expect him to unless something changed in the last few days
