Depth Chart vs Wisconsin, with changes due to suspensions. I counted only 7 seniors starting, 15 returning starters from this chart.

http://www.utsports.com/uploadedFiles/Sports/Football/Articles/20071207wisdepth.pdf

Based on the depth chart, looks like UT is using a base offense of 2 tight ends and 2 wide receivers vs Wisconsin (because of the Taylor suspension). Brad Cottam and Chris Brown start. Brisco and Rogers start at WR. Moore is still 3rd team WR.

On defense, Mayo at WLB, Wilson at MLB, and 4 guys sharing duties at SLB; Karl, McKenzie, Davis, and Myers-White.

Mapu starts opposite Williams at DT. A freshmen Victor Thomas backs-up Williams. Looks like Williams will play the whole game at DT.

Ben Martin is 3rd team DE (maybe redshirt?).

Rogan is backing up both CB's and Jakouri Williams is 2nd team safety behing Hefney. Not a lot of depth there. Vinson, Hefney and Berry probably will play the whole game in the secondary.

Ben Martin has already played some this year. Sooooo, that means he cannot redshirt.

Just because you play doesn't mean you can't redshirt. It's how much you play. That being said, I think he played too much to RS.

This from NCAA

Eligibility FAQ: Seasons

"Each student is allowed no more than four seasons of competition per sport. If you were not a qualifier, you may have fewer seasons of competition available to you. You should know that NCAA rules indicate that any competition, regardless of time, during a season counts as one of your seasons of competition in that sport. It does not matter how long you were involved in a particular competition (for example, one play in a football game, one point in a volleyball match); you will be charged with one season of competition."

Of course, he who makes the rules can always bend them. :salute:

Jakouri Williams seemed to be a good football player, he should of got more snaps this season...not at safety though (I thought he was rb/WR?)

He was, I think he thought he would see more playing time by moving to the secondary.

Yeah, it's either Hancock or Jones. I'm expecting to see 2 tight ends most of the time except for obvious passing downs.

I like Cottam and Chris Brown both in the game at tight end. I keep waiting for Cottam to run over half a dozen people on a long pass and run to the end zone. He's huge.

Actually, I have heard we will see a lot of Jones in this game. He will get the time in the slot that Briscoe usually plays because Briscoe moved to the outside.
