Is this the way the depth chart is likely to look when this is all sorted out? (College Player Database - Depth Chart)

58 Marlon Walls | 6-4, 280, Fr., HS
98 Rae Sykes | 6-2, 255, Jr., 2V
90 Stephen Fowlkes | 6-4, 229, So., HS

93 Montori Hughes | 6-4, 312, Fr., HS
97 Chase Nelson | 6-4, 292, Sr., 2V
95 Arthur Jeffery | 6-4, 285, Fr., HS

This is what it will look like for a couple of games, but I doubt all of them get kicked off the team.

You forgot Greg Clark by the way.

When did we lose Nelson?

Walls will be back.

Hughes may be gone.

Victor Thomas will swap back to DT.

So, we'll have:
Marlon Walls
Rae Sykes
Stephen Fowlkes
Chase Nelson
Arthur Jeffrey
Greg Clark
John Brown* (if he qualifies)
Victor Thomas
Malik Jackson (big enough to be used a little in the DT rotation).

Losing Hughes hurts us badly since he is our best DT. But, it's not the end of the world.

As far as I know we still have Nelson. We also have the freshman Clark at 6-4, 300. Brown may of may not qualify, and even if he does, could end up being suspended. Hughes is probably gone. Walls is suspended, not dismissed. Right now we don't know for how long. V Thomas will almost certainly move back to DT. I've also seen Malik Jackson listed anywhere from 240-285. Depending on which one is most accurate, he could end up moving inside.

I don't see anyone else getting kicked off the team....missing a few games is very likely though....the team will have to manage

My guess:

Hughes, Walls, King, and Rogers will be suspended for UTM.

They will all be back by Oregon.

The fact that Hughes, Walls, and King were not dismissed immediately should give us a hint.

The only one I have much doubt of not returning is Hughes.

No charges have been filed, to my knowledge, for the actual fight in and out of the bar. I'm sure that there is a lot of he said / he said going on, and Dooley needs to sort out what actually happened. The police investigation will help with this, and I'm sure the staff is conducting their own.

Because of this, I am not confident at all that the suspensions won't turn into dismissals or that Hughes still has to pay the piper, so to speak. I do feel better that Rogers may be OK - including possibly even avoiding a suspension. But, depending on who was involved in the fight(s) and how, there could be some more suspensions to be handed out here.

My thought/guess is that Walls and King were probably suspended not because of their direct involvement in the fights - but probably because they shouldn't have been there at the instruction of the staff and therefore it was an easy decision to punish them. They needed no more facts than there mere presence at the bar at that time of night. The fact that Hughes hasn't been mentioned by Dooley yet doesn't give me any confidence that he won't meet a stiff penalty.

Do you think they are waiting for the officer to get out of the hospital to get his statement?

There was a thread that said Chase Nelson started it all: http://www.volnation.com/forum/tennessee-vols-football/104334-chase-nelson-started-all.html

Apparently he had him confused with Hughes I hope?

I wonder how long it will take before the investigation will be completed? I heard John Pennington via phone on a sports show Saturday morning. He was saying that more charges are likely to be filed, than dropped. His feeling was that this could have a major impact, and that more players are likely to be dismissed. Don't know if he knows something, or was just giving his opinion. There have been so many different stories relayed about the incident that we won't know anything until completion. I find it odd that so many are saying Hughes will likely be dismissed, yet CDD did not suspend him. Just makes you sick that they were in that bar in the first place.

Anyone with some inside scoop hearing anything new? Please do not let Montori be in a lot of trouble.

Myles was dismissed for what happened after the fights at the bar, not for what he did in those fights.

In 4 hours, it is hard to figure out who you are going to suspend/dismiss for involvement in a fight when there is so much confusion circulating the event (a lot of people involved, two different fights, etc.). So, it doesn't surprise m that Hughes wasn't suspended. If he had been, it would have been a pretty rash decision by Dooley based on little evidence. That's why I think that King and Walls' suspensions have little to nothing to do with the actual fight and more to do with team rules being broken / being in the dog house already.

I would say there is a 100% chance that more players will be suspended or dismissed seeing as how it is very likely that no punishment has been handed down for the actual fights yet.

The guy probably won't remember much since he suffered a pretty bad head injury.

This will all be a bunch of he said/she said business and I'll be surprised if there is any good enough evidence to convict anyone of serious charges.

I bet almost all the witnesses were heavily inebriated and/or have there own certain biases where the true story won't be heard.

The bar owner will make the players look bad.
The police officer and bouncers will make the players look bad.
The players will make the officer and bouncers look bad.
The rest of the witnesses were probably drunk out of their mind.

There may not be enough evidence to land a conviction, but that doesn't mean there won't be enough to land a guy or two with a one-way ticket home.
