Deloss Dodds to retire

Mack is still popular with the money men down there. If the spot is coming open, he has a shot at getting it.

Looks as though Louisville may be in need of a new AD soon. Maybe some coaches too.

Why do you think that?
All the major sports at Texas are in the crapper and Mack helped get them (football) there. With his resume at Louisville, Tom Jurich would be my top target. The next AD at Texas will have to do a major blood letting and I don't think Mack has what it takes to do it. Think they'll give Brown some title as they're doing for Dodds when he "retires".

I've heard that Andrew Luck's dad (Oliver) at West Virgina is a target too to replace Dodds. He has ties to Texas.

Actually, he has two shots/chances, very slim and none. The fans aren't enamored with MB and if Brown cannot keep the football program prominent and nationally relevant, and he cannot, he certainly isn't going to be rewarded with an entire athletic department. The Daily Texan doesn't even list him as a possibility. Giving the AD to Brown would be akin to giving the "real UT" AD job to Phil Fulmer. The "learning curve" would be too steep.
