DEI to buy RYR?

Everyone has been rumored to be buying RYR for the past 4 years. Maybe that'll be Jr's 51% :)

That would be great......What'd be good is if Yates started doing DEI's Engines and started running their plate program......Their plate program is one of the best in NASCAR they just don't have the drivers and finishes to show for it.....Not saying DEI does but IMO, their drivers are just a little bit better than anyone RYR has to work with

How would this work out with RYR having a strong Ford backing and DEI having a strong Chevy backing? I would hope DEI would stick with Chevy but if a deal were to be struck, it could include the language to force DEI to change or no deal.

DEI won't go to Chevy....I don't see them buying something and then them having to change......I'd say if they bought that RYR would have to change to Chevy

The GM contract with DEI is up at the end of this year, so they may be thinking about switching to Ford. That would really suck if they did. :ermm:

I am just pointing out the fact that NASCAR is loaded with Chevy teams. I dont see them liking the possibility of losing more Ford teams to Chevy. Who knows though. I personally dont see this happening.

Has anyone ever heard of Mr. Burgess? His Nascar prank call is hilarious. Beware language, and racism is involved. All of his pranks are hilarious, he gets so mad

You are fooling yourselves if you honestly believe GM will let Jr. get away. There's a reason he said after he filled in for Kyle Busch at Texas that he would only do that in a Chevrolet car.

Yeah GM isn't going to let guys like Jeff, Jr. and Stewart get away.

I have read some rumors that GM may pull factory support from the lesser teams and put all of their support into Childress and Hendrick's teams with the arrival of Toyota. That's why you see teams like Ginn leeching off of Hendrick already. Ford basically did the same thing with Roush, i.e.; no other top Ford teams.

How would they divide up the teams? They are only allowed to have 4.
They would have the 1, 8, 15, 38, and 88. One of those would have to go.
Maybe JR Motorsports would take one? :dunno:

thats a good idea, but i think id leave the 15 in the busch series until he steps his game up....hell maybe they should leave truex in busch

and u knew Jr wont ever drive anything but a chevy, his father would roll over in his grave if he drove a ford or toyota

Tidwell, you are probably right about GM not letting Jr. go, but dont forget that the fact that Ford has lost quite a bit of stables in recent years. One would have to believe that if DEI or Jr. wanted to buy RYR that Ford would throw a ton of money their way in hopes of keeping one of their best teams, historically speaking of course.

Dale Sr. also drove a Dodge. I could deal with a Dodge, but I hope they don't change to Ford. :ermm:

I really don't think Ford would lose any sleep over losing Yates at this point.

Tidwell, I think that Ford probably would lose sleep over losing RYR. The reason is that they would not only be losing RYR, but the team that bought them as well. I think with the money that Chevy pours into Hendrick, RCR, and Gibbs that Ford would have a big bargaining chip with money and factory support towards DEI or Jr. Once again, I hope it doesnt happen but I believe that people that do not see this as more than a remote possibility may be setting themselves up for a big surprise. If championships are his goal then he will go where the money and support are.
