Class of 2011 and been reading this boards for 18 years and have never made a post or a reply. This is warranted. I have never called for a coaches head outside of Gump but this need to be said. It is obvious to me and obvious to the nation that this defense is just atrocious. It’s either a 1 yard loss/ sack or a 15+ yard gain. 7 weeks and 6 games in, Banks refuses to adjust at any point in the game.
We continue to play 3 DL and an LB no matter how crappy it plays out. The few plays a game we play true 4 DL it always results in a positive play for the D.
I don’t understand this. The 3 down soft cover press is not working.. and yet you keep doing it. We rarely get burnt deep, yet you call defenses that would think you get burnt every play, it’s always runs that are killing us and duhhhhh it’s because you play 3 down.
My issue is not with the win, it is the defensive play calls that don’t change no matter how the game is going. Banks went from 30 points to 16 a game in a few years.. with 5 high draft picks but now he’s right back to 35 points allowed a game and it’s because he won’t adjust at all. This is 2012 all over again. We’re gonna have to out shoot everyone we play and hope for a couple fumble recoveries.
Banks needs to go at the end of the year.
