Might as well start the guessing game:

DE: Matthew Butler
NT: Emmitt Gooden
DE: Savion Williams
OLB: Darrell Taylor
ILB: Daniel Bituli
ILB: Darrin Kirkland
OLB: Deandre Johnson
CB: Alontae Taylor
CB: Bryce Thompson
S: Nigel Warrior
S: Trevon Flowers

I think mincey will play over butler and jj peterson over kirkland

Kirkland won’t be back. He will graduate. My opinion only. He wouldn’t start even if he comes back

Do we play a true 3-4 scheme, or a 3-3-5? If its a true 3-4, this looks correct, and would be stouter against the run. But, your going to wind up having miss matches in coverage. LB/DE covering backs or TE's.
Our base is a 3-4 but we didn't run it a whole lot. We ran a lot of 4 down linemen in our nickel package. I believe that changes as Pruitt gets more of his guys in here. He was just making the system fit what we had

Dline is by far the worst part of our d on paper.

It's pretty scary. 1 proven contributor by my count? Really hoping JP is trying the grad transfer market and grabs a bammer or someone else like he did with Kennedy last year. Need immediate help.

DE- Darel Middleton (Jr.), John Mincey (So.)
NT- Emmitt Gooden (Sr.), Greg Emerson (RSFr.)
DE- Savion Williams (Jr.), Matthew Butler (Jr.)
JACK- Darrell Taylor (RSSr.), Roman Harrison (Fr.)
WILL- Darrin Kirkland (RSSr.), Will Ignont (Jr.)
MIKE- Daniel Bituli (Sr.), Lakia Henry (Jr.)
SAM- Quavaris Crouch (Fr.), JJ Peterson (RSFr.)
LCB- Bryce Thompson (So.), Tyus Fields (Fr.)
RCB- Alontae Taylor (So.), Warren Burrell (Fr.)
NB- Baylen Buchanan (Sr.), Shawn Shamburger (Jr.)
S- Nigel Warrior (Sr.), Theo Jackson (Jr.)
S- Trevon Flowers (So.), Jaylen McCollough (Fr.)

If Solomon is eligible, I think he starts over Middleton. And if we land To’oto’o, I think he starts at Will at some point.

Not keeping this guy off the field. Don’t care how much experience the older guys have.

For all the JJ Petersen excitement last year it’s very interesting how most are now skeptical. The kid is a great athlete. He will start.

Takes more that athleticism. He hasn’t yet shown the kind of commitment required to start. Personally, I’d be surprised he does.

Lol. You don't know a thing about him or his "commitment level". Guess what, if he's the beat athlete and understands the defense, he's gonna start. Those are the requirements.

It was tough on JJ, because he was in a state of uncertainty for so long. That can be grueling on a young man. He didn't even know if he's be a Vol or not.

Now that he is....

His mind can focus and get set along with strengthening his body.

JJ has a lot of ability. I'm anxious to see what progess he will make.
