Defensive minded coach?

Is the only reason why we are going after defensive minded coaches is because Fulmer might be deciding on the Offensive side?

I honestly can't see a scenario where Fulmer gives the hire full access to whoever they want to hire. But most defensive guys stick with their defensive buddies.

I think that’s messed up, if that’s the case. A coach should hire who he wants, the AD should stay in his own lane.

Fulmer is familiar with having external control of coordinators. He will not be part of that problem.

Hiring "offensive" minded coaches offended me. The focus on system was ludicrous. A good coach wants to manage rather than control.

I wouldn't think so. I think conversations might be around more of what is candidates for oc are you looking at and talk about scheme and what hc wants to accomplish he may even give his opinion but I feel he would let them make their own hire

I like the idea of a defensive minded coach. They constantly express the importance of running the football to the OC. (See Saban/Kiffin)There is a reason why offensive teams that put up huge #'s can't seem to defend.(See Leach/ALL his DC's)

TN has not had a good defense in years and years and years. Defenses win championships. Fulmer knows that. I thinks he is trying hard to find a good coach.
I also think Fulmer is listening to the fans. The fans want to give Tee a shot at OC. I also believe Fulmer thinks Tee would be a good pick for TN.
Lets try to be patient for another day or two. Better to take our time and make a good hire than rush into another disaster.
