I can almost guarantee you that if Al Wilson was on this team, with the Defense playing as well as they are and being put in terrible field position to defend time after time, he would be all over JG's rear end and in the coaches ear to get him outta there. We all know the story about him and Manning at Memphis. If I was Henry T, I would be doing the same right now. There is still a legitimate chance to win the East, not great but a chance. The defense is playing great but no matter how great a Defense is, constantly being on the field, due to 3 and outs, or put in short field situations, JG turnovers, they will eventually crack. We saw that against Ga in the second half after a Monster first half from our Defense. Then against UK, they just seemed deflated after JG kept trotting out there and doing absolutely nothing.

The Defensive Leaders need to be very vocal right now. What matters is the TEAM, not just JG. By taking a stance against JG to give another a legitimate shot, not just a series or pull after 1 mistake, they are saying we are doing our job and now the Offense needs to do their part to help us out.

In my personal opinion, it looks like Coach Pruitt may be close to losing the locker room over his stubbornness with JG. Those who have ever played a Team sport knows this feeling. When the coach pulls one or more kids for making mistakes but leaves another in after multiple and never pulling him.

Some of y'all will disagree with me and I totally understand that. This is just my opinion on what I would be doing if I was a Defensive Leaders on the team and saw my season slipping away.

So they should demand the players that they know are worse than JG should play just in the name of making a change?

I guess we should have benched Casey Clausen when he had 4 fumbles in one half.

Makes perfect sense.

You really hate White QB's don't ya? Clausen had already established himself as a very good QB, something JG has yet or will ever do.

We honestly don't know if the backups are that bad bc they never get a full chance to succeed. I'm all for letting Shrout play a whole game without fear of being pulled for a mistake and see how he performs. You know, the same that JG gets.

There was a chance to win the East before Saturday. We are now behind the 8-ball after losing to Kentucky. In an SEC only schedule there is literally no realistic opportunity for that this year. We needed to split UGA/FLA, and maintain momentum over the bottom half of the division.

As far as the rest goes...I agree. Somebody has to do something. I no longer blame JG for any of this. It is coaching malfeasance three years into CJP's tenure to still be trotting him out, and apparently failing to develop or find a workable QB.

Coaches are in charge of development, and personnel. At this point both seem to be lacking.

I know it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY, but this is 2020 and nothing is out of the question yet. We could win out, I know I know, and Ga lose two more and we win the East.

Numerically speaking, of course you're right. Hope springs eternal I guess. Two East losses, one particularly unexpected, really dashes those hopes though.

They could if they had time to rest and regroup. But hey, keep going out there after 3 plays.

KY ran over them on their first drive of the second half for a TD. They weren't tired then. Then ran over them on their second possession for a FG. If the defense was gassed 2 possessions into the 2nd half we have some serious S&C problems.

We have started qbs with worse numbers that have played worse games than that.

You don't play backup qbs that have proven they are worse for a bad game and a half. 99% of teams would not.
The backups cannot play worse than JG. They can give us more of the same but you have to try something. Backups have not been getting reps because JG takes them all. And he wasted those reps. It's time to move on and work on one of the other guys. You cannot justify starting JG.

This defense has one of the worst third down conversion rates in the nation. Almost 50%. There is no pass rush without blitzing.

Still, I’m not following the, “Ok, we suck like hell on offense. On defense, we are stopping the run, but our LBs are slow and not setting edge. DBs are getting run by, and middle of the field is wide open. So, we gonna fire the Dline coach.”

They haven't "Proven" anything. You don't 'Prove" anything with a couple series. You can't even acknowledge that JG HAS PROVEN he isn't the best answer to the QB issue. Give the others, even if it is the Freshman Bailey, a chance to "Prove" it without pressure of being pulled after 1 mistake. Just give them the same consideration he gives JG.

Shrout showed he can with the quick int.

Maurer showed he can last year.

Do people not remember beyond one game or something?

Bailey is the only other qb that should even be discussed. If he is ready give him a shot.

The other guys don't play for a reason.

So 10 points, I'm not saying we were going to shut them out. This UK game was just bad all around, but, the GA game they were lights out in first half and was tired in second half with JG making mistakes. Later in the 4th against UK, they were tired bc JG couldn't put a drive together.

They are obviously proving it in practice as well.

Take it up with Pruitt.

As long as he is starting he must be the best chance to win.

Other than Mauer, all have had a much shorter leash than JG when they got the opportunity. Not to mention the fact that JG takes the vast majority of practice reps, limiting the development opportunities for the others...with sub-par results to show for it.

Coaching, personnel, and development.

So Shrout with "1" pick is bad, but JG with 3 in last 4 quarters, 2 Pick 6's, isn't?

Shrout playing tight bc he isn't allowed to make a mistake and JG is loose bc it doesn't matter how many he makes. There is a huge difference in mentality with that.
